AWS Integrations Architect

Americaneagle.com is seeking an experienced AWS Integration Architect / Senior Integration Engineer to design and implement scalable integration solutions using AWS-native services. This role will play a key part in modernizing and migrating existing integration platforms, including MuleSoft, to AWS while leveraging event-driven and API-first architectures.

The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing distributed systems and integrations on AWS, deep knowledge of modern integration patterns, and the ability to clearly document and communicate architectural solutions across technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and evolve cloud-native integration architectures on AWS

• Lead and support the migration of integrations from MuleSoft to AWS-native services

• Develop and maintain integration patterns using AWS Lambda, API Gateway, AWS EventBridge, and AWS Step Functions

• Build and support traditional applications utilizing AWS EC2, Beanstalk, S3, RDS, SNS

• Architect secure, scalable solutions within AWS VPC networking environments utilizing subnets, route tables, network ACLs

• Design event-driven, REST-based, and GraphQL-based integration architectures

• Define best practices for API management, event orchestration, and service-to-service communication

• Produce clear architectural diagrams and technical documentation describing integration flows and system interactions

• Collaborate with engineering teams, platform teams, and business stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs

• Establish reusable integration frameworks, patterns, and standards

• Participate in architecture reviews and contribute to enterprise architecture strategy

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree

• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing integration solutions

• 3+ years of experience working with AWS services

• Hands-on experience with AWS Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, Step Functions, SNS/SQS, and VPC

• Strong understanding of modern integration patterns, including REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, and microservices integration patterns

• Experience designing scalable and resilient distributed systems

• Ability to create architecture diagrams, integration flow diagrams, and technical documentation

• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain architectural decisions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate or Professional preferred

• Experience migrating integrations from MuleSoft or other ESB/iPaaS platforms preferred

• Familiarity with serverless architectures and event-driven systems preferred

• Experience implementing observability, monitoring, and logging for integration platforms preferred

• Knowledge of security best practices for APIs and event-driven systems preferred

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code tools such as CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform strongly preferred

• Experience with AWS compliance frameworks such as PCI, HITRUST, etc. is a plus

Within this range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
