About the job
Description
Malkolm is a chief of staff for your body. He connects your clinical records, wearables, sleep, workouts, and nutrition into one clear move every day, learning your baselines and remembering your history so the guidance is yours, not generic. Private by design, and never sold to advertisers.
We're in invite-only early access, and the people who have him keep coming back on their own, every day, with no marketing. That's the proof we needed. Near-term we're driving to the first million users. Bootstrapped by design: real traction first, then YC / Speedrun to first institutional capital.
The mission is bigger than an app: put expert-grade health guidance within reach of everyone, not a privileged few.
The role
You'd be one of the first engineers, working directly with the Founder and CEO, building Malkolm into the category-defining product.
What you'll own:
- Architecture, end to end. You decide how Malkolm is built, and you keep it fast as it scales.
- The health-data platform: clinical records, wearables, sleep, nutrition, heart rate, unified into one intelligence layer.
- The agentic core: the reasoning, memory, and feedback loops that make the coach actually work, not an LLM bolted onto an app.
- The consumer product itself, iOS first, shipped with taste and shipped fast.
The profile
- You've built data-intensive consumer mobile apps that real people use every day.
- You build AI-native from first principles, not by wrapping an LLM around a CRUD app.
- You ship fast, own architecture, and operate with high judgment and little direction.
- You attract strong engineers. People want to build with you.
- You have taste for consumer UX. You care how it feels, not just that it works.
- Bonus: health or wearable data, agent and LLM systems, backend at scale, Swift and HealthKit.
How this is paid
Equity only at this stage, real founding equity, with cash that turns on as we hit revenue milestones. This is a bet. We think it's the right one, and the alpha numbers back it.
To apply
Tell us what you've built. Introduce yourself and point us to something you shipped.
