WordPress Plugin Developer & Site Maintenance Engineer

We’re looking for a reliable, technically skilled WordPress Plugin Developer & Site Maintenance Engineer to manage, maintain, and develop custom solutions across our WordPress and WooCommerce infrastructure.

This is a part-time, 100% remote role (20 hours/week) intended for a long-term working relationship. The position begins with a 30-day paid evaluation period at $5/hour, followed by a performance-based compensation review.

Responsibilities:

Develop, maintain, and troubleshoot custom WordPress plugins and PHP code.
Configure and extend WooCommerce, subscription systems, and Stripe integrations.
Build and maintain REST API, webhook, and third-party service integrations.
Manage WordPress/plugin/core updates across staging and production.
Troubleshoot database issues, hook conflicts, fatal errors, and performance problems.
Optimize MySQL queries, caching, and overall site performance.
Implement security hardening, backups, and uptime monitoring.
Maintain reliable infrastructure for live transactions.

Requirements:

3–5 years of relevant WordPress development experience.
Strong experience with WordPress plugins, WooCommerce, and Stripe.
Strong PHP, MySQL, JavaScript/jQuery, REST API, HTML/CSS skills.
Experience with database optimization, caching, and technical troubleshooting.
Availability for 20 hours per week.
Comfortable using Hubstaff time tracking.
At least 2 verifiable professional references from previous clients or employers.
