The Opportunity
KPIT is seeking a highly experienced AUTOSAR Technical Lead to drive software modernization and AUTOSAR migration initiatives for off-highway vehicle platforms.
In this role, you will lead the transformation of legacy embedded software into modular, scalable, and reusable AUTOSAR-based architectures across Brake, Steering, Transmission, HVAC, and Implement Control ECUs. You will work closely with OEM architects, Functional Safety teams, and global engineering organizations to define software architecture strategies, establish migration frameworks, and deliver next-generation software platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead software modernization and AUTOSAR migration initiatives across multiple ECU domains.
- Define strategies and best practices to transform legacy software into modular, reusable, and scalable architectures
- Analyze monolithic models and codebases to identify opportunities for decomposition, reuse, and standardization.
- Design functional software architectures, configure AUTOSAR components, and support ARXML generation activities.
- Lead migration efforts from non-AUTOSAR to AUTOSAR-based software platforms. • Drive model and Embedded C/C++ refactoring using modern engineering practices and AI-assisted approaches.
- Define quality gates, validation strategies, and compliance criteria across architecture, migration, integration, and validation phases.
- Collaborate with OEM architects, Functional Safety teams, and software development teams to ensure successful implementation and integration.
What We're Looking For
- 10+ years of experience in automotive embedded software development.
- Strong expertise in AUTOSAR Classic Platform, including SWCs, RTE, BSW Integration, and ARXML. Experience migrating legacy software and models to AUTOSAR architectures.
- Strong hands-on experience with Embedded C/C++.
- Experience with MATLAB/Simulink and Model-Based Development (MBD).
- Knowledge of MIL, SIL, HIL, and Virtual ECU validation methodologies.
- Experience with multi-ECU systems and software integration.
- Ability to collaborate with OEM architects, Functional Safety teams, and cross functional stakeholders.
Nice to Have
- Off-Highway Vehicle experience.
- Knowledge of ISO 26262 and ASPICE.
- Experience with dSPACE, Vector, and AUTOSAR authoring tools.
- Familiarity with Git-based development workflows and CI/CD practices.
- Experience using AI-assisted tools for code refactoring and AUTOSAR migration.
- Experience supporting platform-level ECU programs.
