About the Role
HPN Software Solutions is looking for a talented and versatile Software Engineer 2 to join our team in Colorado Springs. In this role, you will design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performing applications supporting critical software projects. You will work across the full stack—building robust back-end microservices, managing containerized deployments, and creating modern, responsive user interfaces.

Key Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain scalable microservices using Java and PostgreSQL.

Develop, test, and deploy front-end applications using Angular and ReactJS.

Integrate modern data APIs using GraphQL.

Containerize applications and assist with orchestration and deployment using Kubernetes.

Collaborate on-site with cross-functional teams to deliver clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.

Support ongoing maintainability, performance tuning, and security compliance.

Required Qualifications
Citizenship & Clearance: Must be a U.S. Citizen. An active Secret Clearance (or higher) is strongly preferred.

Work Location: Ability to work 100% on-site in Colorado Springs, CO.

Experience: 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience.

Back-End Expertise: Proficiency in Java and relational database design/management with PostgreSQL.

Front-End Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience building web applications in both Angular and ReactJS.

APIs & Data: Practical experience building or consuming GraphQL APIs.

Containers & Orchestration: Direct experience deploying and managing applications with Kubernetes and container technologies (e.g., Docker).

Preferred Qualifications
Active Secret Clearance at time of hire.

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and secure coding practices.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an agile environment.

Compensation & Working Conditions
Pay Rate: Competitive hourly rate based on experience.
