Cloud Security Engineer

Fulcrum Technology Solutions are looking for an experienced Cloud Security Engineer for a client of ours to support the deployment, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting of enterprise security infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

This role has a strong focus on cloud security, Palo Alto technologies, networking, and secure connectivity across Azure, AWS, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience securing enterprise environments while understanding how modern cloud architectures, networking, and security controls work together.

Key Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, administer, troubleshoot, and maintain cloud and security technologies
• Support Palo Alto firewalls and related security infrastructure
• Implement and maintain security controls across Azure, AWS, and OCI environments
• Troubleshoot network connectivity, security, and performance issues across on-premises and cloud environments
• Design, document, and maintain detailed network and security topology diagrams
• Participate in the research, installation, configuration, testing, implementation, and maintenance of security systems and services
• Assist with designing and planning advanced cloud and security solutions
• Implement controls and procedures designed to protect information systems from unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or destruction
• Collaborate with network engineering, infrastructure, desktop services, application teams, project managers, vendors, and end users
• Provide independent technical support for security infrastructure and related applications
• Participate in enterprise cloud and security projects from planning through implementation
• Recommend technical standards and improvements related to cloud and security infrastructure
• Research emerging security technologies and make recommendations regarding new tools and solutions
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced security team members
• Document configurations, troubleshooting procedures, cloud architectures, network topologies, and security standards
• Participate in a rotating 24x7 on-call support schedule

Required Qualifications

• 3–6 years of experience in cloud security, network security, cybersecurity, cloud engineering, or a related field
• Hands-on experience with cloud environments, preferably Azure, AWS, and/or OCI
• Experience with Palo Alto Networks security technologies
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting network devices and security technologies, including switches, routers, access points, and firewalls
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, security controls, and secure connectivity
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals and the OSI model
• Strong knowledge of common network protocols and well-known ports
• Experience creating network topology diagrams and technical documentation
• Experience troubleshooting complex network connectivity issues
• Experience using packet analysis tools such as Wireshark
• Familiarity with Active Directory, including users and groups
• Understanding of common malware, cyberattacks, attack techniques, and threat actors
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a technical team
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• Palo Alto Networks certification such as PCNSA or equivalent
• Networking or security certifications such as Network+, Security+, CCENT, or equivalent
• Experience with cloud security architecture and cloud-native security controls
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
• Experience developing security standards, architecture documentation, and technical procedures

This is a hands-on cloud security engineering position for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, Palo Alto security technologies, networking, and cybersecurity.
