FinOps Engineer

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a hands-on, live operational role requiring real-time agility and deep technical acumen to drive financial accountability across a multi-cloud estate (primarily AWS & Azure).

MUST-HAVE SKILLS:

• Tooling Mastery (Non-Negotiable): Deep, hands-on experience with both Apptio and CloudAbility.
• Tagging Expertise: Expert-level knowledge of designing and enforcing strict cloud resource tagging strategies for complex cost allocation.
• True Technical Chops: Technical depth in AWS/Azure architectures to speak the same language as engineers and intelligently challenge DevOps teams on resource waste.
• High-Responsiveness Operations Focus: Highly accessible during core M-F business hours with the urgency to rapidly investigate and remediate cost anomalies the moment they occur.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Act as the first line of defense; rapidly respond to cost spikes, alerts, and anomalies.
• Lead automated tagging compliance and manage enterprise showback/chargeback models.
• Monitor daily usage patterns to drive resource right-sizing and waste elimination.
