About the job
EDI/EDIAL Production Support & Integration, Lead
Location: 100% REMOTE
Position: EDI/EDIAL Production Support & Integration Lead
We're seeking a hands-on technical leader to own production support, incident management, and continuous improvement for a mission-critical supply chain integration environment. This role sits at the intersection of EDI, Azure cloud, SQL/data platforms, D365, scripting, and app support — the candidate must troubleshoot complex integration failures end-to-end, lead technical teams during outages, and communicate clearly with business stakeholders. Because EDI operates 24x7, flexibility for after-hours and weekend incident/deployment support is required.
Key Responsibilities
Production Support & Incident Management
- Monitor inbound/outbound transaction flows; rapidly identify failed, delayed, or stuck processes
- Serve as technical point person during major incidents, coordinating support resources while staying hands-on
- Triage by business impact; prioritize critical customers, orders, invoices, operations
- Investigate across the full integration chain, determine what processed vs. what's outstanding, and drive recovery (reprocessing, restaging) without creating duplicates
- Identify root causes and implement permanent fixes; balance recovery speed with data integrity
EDI/EDIAL Support
- Troubleshoot inbound/outbound EDI transactions, mappings, and partner-specific issues
- Trace transactions through archives, queues, databases, and downstream ERP
- Support onboarding, testing, monitoring, and remediation of EDI integrations
- Build working knowledge of the org's EDIAL/EDI platform and VP-related components
Azure Cloud & Integration Troubleshooting
- Validate transaction status via Azure SQL databases/views
- Use Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for error investigation
- Troubleshoot Azure Functions (.NET/C#), Event Hubs, Storage Accounts, Key Vault, and Synapse
- Trace transactions end-to-end across source, cloud services, databases, queues, and D365
- Prioritize cross-system tracing ability over single-service expertise
SQL & Data Troubleshooting
- Write/execute SQL against Azure SQL, SQL Server, and Synapse
- Compare integration DB records with D365 to determine processing status
- Investigate views, mapping/config tables; make and validate controlled data changes
- Basic-to-intermediate SQL proficiency required
D365 Support
- Monitor D365 queues and transaction processing; investigate errors and stuck processes
- Troubleshoot authentication/integration issues; validate transaction receipt
- Quickly build functional D365 knowledge if not already experienced
Scripting & Automation
- Use PowerShell, Bash/Shell, and CLI tools for remediation
- Modify/execute scripts for restaging, reprocessing, file manipulation
- Reduce manual effort during high-volume incidents; understand scripts before running them in production
Application Development & Code-Level Troubleshooting
- Review application code (working knowledge of C#/.NET and SQL) to pinpoint failures
- Participate in code promotion/deployment; provide input on PRs
- C++, X++, or D365 code experience is a plus
Reporting, Power BI & Data Engineering (desirable, growing scope)
- Support/troubleshoot Power BI reports, datasets, and DAX
- Maintain Azure Logic Apps for scheduled report distribution
- Work with Databricks datasets; implement reporting enhancements per stakeholder needs
Leadership & Communication
- Own major incidents from identification to resolution; coordinate multiple technical resources
- Set priorities by business impact; maintain a central view of incident status
- Translate technical issues into business terms; give realistic status/recovery updates
- Stay calm and decisive; make risk-informed calls rather than over-analyzing during critical outages
Required Qualifications
Technical
- 5+ years in enterprise integration, application support, EDI, cloud engineering, or production support
- Hands-on Microsoft Azure experience, including several of: Azure SQL, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Azure Functions, Storage, Event Hubs, Key Vault, Synapse, Logic Apps, Databricks
- Working knowledge of SQL and scripting (PowerShell/Bash/Shell)
- Ability to troubleshoot distributed apps and trace transactions across systems
- Understanding of EDI concepts/flows; ability to learn and support D365
Behavioral
- Strong ownership and accountability under pressure; comfortable with after-hours/weekend support

Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 and EDI/EDIAL production support experience

- Power BI, DAX, Databricks, Python, Azure Logic Apps
- C++, X++, or D365 development; PR review/code promotion experience
- Experience with high-volume order/invoice processing and 24x7 mission-critical environments
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures and distributed systems

Success in This Role
- Restore critical services quickly and safely; understand issues end-to-end across EDI, Azure, SQL, apps, and D365
- Execute effective remediation without creating downstream problems
- Lead technical resources during major incidents while keeping stakeholders informed
- Reduce recurring incidents via root-cause fixes and automate repetitive remediation
- Build enough EDI/EDIAL and business-process knowledge to decide independently and own the environment rather than escalating
