Cloud Service Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

Altinity is looking for a great Cloud Service Site Reliability Engineer to work on ClickHouse, the hottest analytic database on the planet. ClickHouse now has more contributors than ElasticSearch, previously the biggest open-source analytics project on GitHub. We’re looking to hire even more. As a Cloud Service Site Reliability Engineer, you will be helping us build out Altinity.Cloud, an enterprise-ready, cloud service for managed ClickHouse.

Here’s how to tell if you fit:

1. You are interested in all things cloud and understand the plumbing that makes cloud applications work.
2. You know how to deploy and operate public-facing, container-based services.
3. You work easily with remote engineers.
4. You have outstanding skills in site operation, including:
5. Proven operational skills on Kubernetes and public clouds, including AWS
6. Outstanding knowledge of networking (including DNS, load-balancers, peering), storage, and compute
7. Good programming skills in Golang
8. Experienced in automating service deployment using CI/CD pipelines and Terraform
9. Able to recommend and implement HA and DR strategies for stateful services
10. Comfortable working in secure environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, PCI) and well-versed in ground-level technologies to protect them
11. Flexible and eager to learn new technologies

Here’s what you will typically be busy with:

• Going On-Call, troubleshooting customer issues, and helping them resolve infrastructure challenges
• Support and develop core services
• Support and develop a Platform (Golang) to provision and operate tenants
• Long-term projects to investigate complex problems, develop solutions for them.

This is a full-time position and includes equity in the company.
