About Hamsa

Hamsa (hamsa.com) is building the new operating system (O/S) for global finance. The company is growing fast with $400B on platform in 2025 and $1T in 2026. Serving the world's largest financial institutions, Hamsa's Unified Ledger, an AI-enabled shared financial data layer, solves the core issues of interoperability, privacy, and speed. We are seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer to collaborate on the design, automation, and management of our cloud-based infrastructure on AWS. You will work closely with our engineering teams to streamline software compilation, delivery, and operational processes—ensuring a secure, scalable, and reliable environment that supports millions of transactions per day.

Responsibilities

  • Automate and manage cloud environments, with a primary focus on AWS.
  • Lead the International DevOps team by setting priorities, coaching engineers, and aligning delivery practices with product and engineering goals.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain systems for metrics, logging, and monitoring.
  • Manage CI/CD pipelines and optimize release engineering workflows.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure and system issues across environments.
  • Be part of the on-call rotation for infrastructure alerts and escalations.
  • Design and enforce Disaster Recovery (DR) and High Availability (HA) strategies using cloud-native services.
  • Implement system hardening and security configurations across services and operating systems.
  • Maintain and evolve infrastructure-as-code practices, automating operational processes.
  • Continuously assess and improve systems performance, scalability, and security.
  • Contribute to internal documentation, knowledge sharing, and team development.

*Requirements*

  • Proven experience building, deploying, and operating highly scalable infrastructure in a security-conscious cloud environment. Experience supporting Tier 1 financial institutions with high transaction volumes is a strong plus.
  • This is a remote position but does require you to work on East Coast hours.
  • 3–5+ years in a senior or lead capacity (mentoring, owning delivery, setting standards)
  • Expertise using CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bitbucket pipeline, Jenkins, Spinnaker) in distributed environments.
  • Expertise in Kubernetes (preferably CKA certified) for service orchestration and deployment.
  • Strong scripting or programming skills in tools such as Terraform, Python, Bash, or YAML.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services.
  • Proficiency with source control systems like Bitbucket or GitHub and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with monitoring and logging frameworks (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Datadog).
  • Solid understanding of DevSecOps, including implementation of "shift-left security" and integration of security scanners into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to present ideas in business-friendly and user-friendly language.
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Team-oriented and skilled in working within a collaborative environment.
  • Able to work with different cultures and communicate with international teams.
