The Role
We’re looking for a Business Operations Associate whose core job is being the CEO’s right hand - someone who can take a brief and run with it across business development, brand protection, community tools, and company events, without needing to be managed step by step. If you're the kind of person who already keeps your own life organized in a spreadsheet, gets things done before anyone has to ask twice, and is comfortable using AI tools as a daily work partner, this role was built for you.

Key Responsibilities

• Keep our business development pipeline current by tracking partner and manufacturer conversations, following up before things go cold, and keeping leadership in the loop without being chased for status.
• Protect our IP by monitoring marketplaces and distributor storefronts for counterfeit or infringing products, document what you find, and directly contact distributors to get infringing listings pulled. You'll draft first-pass takedown correspondence; our legal counsel signs off before anything with legal weight goes out.
• Own the intake and tracking process for our community plugin licensing program, coordinating with legal and engineering on terms and review.
• Use AI-assisted tools to maintain and iterate our community Discord bot (customer service and docs lookup).
• Plan and run our Q1 2027 all-company retreat, start to finish - venue, budget, vendors, and logistics for a team spread across the U.S.
• Take on new priorities directly from the CEO and run with them independently once scoped.
• Pitch in on light HR and bill-pay coordination as needed - not the core of the role, but part of being a true generalist.

Required Qualifications
• 2–5 years in an operations, business development, or generalist role, ideally at a small company or startup where you wore a lot of hats.
• Strong, clear written communication is critical. You'll be corresponding directly with distributors, partners, and legal counsel.
• Comfortable using AI tools daily as a work partner, without needing hand-holding on which tool to use.
• Based in the U.S., ideally Western or Central time, for real-time overlap with our CEO and other U.S.-based partners.
• Good judgment about when to run with something and when to flag it - especially anything legal or financial.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with brand protection, IP enforcement, or marketplace/counterfeit monitoring.
• Familiarity with Discord bots, or willingness to pick it up with AI-assisted tools.
• Experience tracking a BD or partnership pipeline (CRM or structured spreadsheets).
• Background in gaming, hardware, or consumer tech.
• Experience working directly for a founder or executive.
