About Marketeq
Marketeq is an IT consulting firm focused on delivering innovative technology, product, and growth solutions. We are also building a modern, AI-assisted approach to developing internal training and enablement content for our teams.
Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Instructional Design Intern to help develop sales training for IT Account Executives.
This internship provides hands-on experience in instructional design, learning content development, AI-assisted research, LMS administration, and assessment design. You will work from documented SOPs to research topics, validate information against primary sources, and turn that research into practical, engaging learning experiences.
You will not simply be generating content with AI. You will be responsible for directing the AI, validating its output, making instructional decisions, and serving as the final quality gate.
Our immediate priority is migrating and improving existing training content in our LMS. The next priority is developing new training lessons and a final certification assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct AI-assisted research on sales strategies and techniques relevant to the IT consulting industry.
- Follow established Research & Sourcing SOPs throughout the research and content-development process.
- Locate and review full primary sources, rather than relying on search snippets, summaries, or AI-generated references.
- Verify facts, statistics, and claims against their original sources before including them in training content.
Maintain source documentation, including the title and URL for supporting sources.
Develop sales training content for IT Account Executives, including topics such as:
- Needs assessment and client discovery
- IT consulting sales processes
- Statement of Work (SOW) development and presentation
- Service Level Agreement (SLA) discussions and negotiation
- Sales negotiation techniques
- Invoicing, deposits, and payment collection procedures
Produce two core authoring outputs for each lesson:
- Video script: Exact voiceover/transcript with corresponding slide direction.
- Interaction plan: Knowledge checks, activities, and assessments that reinforce the lesson.
Design genuinely instructional interactions that develop transferable skills. Avoid filler activities or interactions that do not contribute to learning.
Generate finished training videos from your scripts using AI voice and avatar tools such as ElevenLabs (voiceover) and HeyGen (presenter/avatar video).
Build, organize, and maintain training content within an LMS such as iSpring Learn or Relate Systems.
Help develop certification paths and the final certification assessment.-
Review and edit AI-generated content for factual accuracy, clarity, instructional quality, and tone.
Create PowerPoint or equivalent presentations to support sales training.
Collaborate with sales and training stakeholders to ensure content reflects current business practices and training objectives.
Revise training materials based on stakeholder and learner feedback.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Learning & Development, or a related field such as Instructional Design and Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or a similar discipline.
- Comfortable using AI tools for research and content development.
- Strong ability to critically evaluate, fact-check, and improve AI-generated content.
- Strong research and information-synthesis skills, with the ability to locate and validate information using primary sources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience with an LMS such as iSpring Learn or Relate Systems, or the ability to learn one quickly.
- Able to follow documented SOPs accurately and consistently.
- Able to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Interest in IT consulting, B2B sales, and sales enablement is a plus.
What You'll Gain
- Hands-on experience developing real-world instructional design content.
- Experience with an AI-assisted instructional design and content-production workflow.
- Practical experience with LMS content development and administration.
- Experience developing assessments, knowledge checks, and certification programs.
- Portfolio-ready instructional design work.
- Exposure to IT consulting, B2B sales, and sales enablement.
- Mentorship and feedback from experienced professionals.
- Flexible scheduling around academic commitments.
