Power BI Developer

Job Summary

Location - US/Canada

We are seeking a skilled and analytical Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Power BI, data modeling, SQL, and reporting technologies, with a strong ability to translate business requirements into intuitive dashboards and actionable insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.

• Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders and convert them into technical solutions.

• Create and maintain data models, datasets, and data visualizations.

• Develop Power Query transformations and DAX calculations to support reporting requirements.

• Connect and integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL Server, Azure, Excel, APIs, and cloud platforms.

• Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy and consistency.

• Implement row-level security (RLS) and data governance best practices.

• Automate reporting processes and improve reporting efficiency.

• Collaborate with business users, data engineers, and IT teams to deliver BI solutions.

• Troubleshoot reporting issues and provide ongoing support and enhancements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.

• Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

• Experience with Power Query and ETL processes.

• Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.

• Knowledge of data modeling concepts including star schema and snowflake schema.

• Experience working with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, etc.) is preferred.

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts and BI architecture.

• Familiarity with Power BI Service, Gateway, Workspaces, and Deployment Pipelines.

• Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.

• Microsoft Power BI Certification (PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate) preferred.

• Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Knowledge of Python, R, or advanced analytics tools is an added advantage.
