Job Summary
Location - US/Canada
We are seeking a skilled and analytical Power BI Developer to design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Power BI, data modeling, SQL, and reporting technologies, with a strong ability to translate business requirements into intuitive dashboards and actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and deploy interactive Power BI dashboards and reports.
Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders and convert them into technical solutions.
Create and maintain data models, datasets, and data visualizations.
Develop Power Query transformations and DAX calculations to support reporting requirements.
Connect and integrate data from multiple sources, including SQL Server, Azure, Excel, APIs, and cloud platforms.
Optimize report performance and ensure data accuracy and consistency.
Implement row-level security (RLS) and data governance best practices.
Automate reporting processes and improve reporting efficiency.
Collaborate with business users, data engineers, and IT teams to deliver BI solutions.
Troubleshoot reporting issues and provide ongoing support and enhancements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Skills
Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Power BI.
Proficiency in DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).
Experience with Power Query and ETL processes.
Strong SQL skills for data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
Knowledge of data modeling concepts including star schema and snowflake schema.
Experience working with Azure Data Services (Azure SQL, Data Factory, Synapse, etc.) is preferred.
Understanding of data warehousing concepts and BI architecture.
Familiarity with Power BI Service, Gateway, Workspaces, and Deployment Pipelines.
Experience implementing Row-Level Security (RLS).
Soft Skills

Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Microsoft Power BI Certification (PL-300: Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst Associate) preferred.
Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
Knowledge of Python, R, or advanced analytics tools is an added advantage.
