About the job
About Mira
Mira builds lightweight AI glasses that act like a second brain. Our glasses help people remember conversations, answer questions in under a second, translate 60+ languages, and surface the right context exactly when it’s needed. We’re a small team in San Francisco solving hard problems across consumer AI, wearable hardware, real-time systems, and privacy-by-design.
The role
We’re looking for a Firmware Engineer to help build the next evolution of human–AI interaction. This is a full-time, in-person role in San Francisco.
What you’ll do
• Build and ship production firmware for wearable hardware.
• Work across hardware and software boundaries to bring up, debug, and improve real devices.
• Make pragmatic engineering tradeoffs under tight iteration cycles.
• Collaborate closely with a small team and take ownership of systems end to end.
What we’re looking for
• 3+ years of software or firmware engineering experience.
• Strong systems programming fundamentals: C/C++, Rust, embedded systems, low-level debugging, RTOS, BLE, and device communication stacks.
• Experience building complex technical products end to end.
• Strong product intuition and comfort debugging real devices.
Especially relevant
Experience with wireless protocols, embedded Linux, microcontrollers, sensors, audio pipelines, power optimization, real-time systems, early-stage startups, or consumer hardware.
Requirements
• Able to commute to our San Francisco office.
• Does not require current or future U.S. visa sponsorship.
