About the job
About PawMedic
PawMedic is building the first dedicated pet emergency transport service . Think of it as an ambulance service for pets — we get animals from home or accident scenes to the nearest capable emergency vet, fast, staffed by trained vet techs and EMTs. We're intentionally transport-only (not a mobile vet or housecall service), which keeps us out of the regulatory maze around veterinarian-client-patient relationships and lets us build stable, recurring B2B revenue through partnerships with local clinics and emergency hospitals — alongside consumer demand from pet owners in crisis moments.
Co-Founder, Veterinary Operations
Role: Co-Founder & Head of Veterinary Operations Location: Remote (on-site/hybrid — must be or willing to relocate later) Commitment: Full-time, unpaid (equity-based) until seed funding closes Compensation: Sweat equity — co-founder-level stake, to be discussed based on fit and contribution
What We're Looking For
We need a co-founder who has actually worked inside emergency veterinary medicine — someone who knows the operational reality of triage, transport protocols, clinic relationships, and what it takes to keep an animal stable en route. You'll be the clinical and operational backbone of the company: the person clinics and pet owners trust because you've done this work.
You:
5+ years of experience as a Veterinary Technician, DVM, or equivalent emergency/critical care veterinary experience
Deep familiarity with triage protocols, animal stabilization, and emergency clinic workflows
Existing relationships (or the credibility to quickly build them) with DFW-area veterinary clinics and emergency hospitals
Comfortable being customer-facing — pitching clinics on partnership, training and managing transport staff, setting clinical SOPs
Founder mentality: you want to build something, not just work a job. Comfortable with ambiguity, early-stage chaos, and wearing many hats
Bonus: licensure/certifications relevant to emergency transport (e.g., VTS in ECC), prior startup or small business ownership experience
What you'd own:
Clinical protocols and staff training/certification standards for transport crews
Clinic partnership development and B2B relationship management
Regulatory and compliance strategy (scope of practice, state-by-state considerations)
Hiring and managing the vet tech/EMT transport team as we scale
Why This Role
This is a true co-founder seat — not an employee role wearing a founder title. Equity, decision-making authority, and the direction of the company are shared. If you've ever sat in an emergency clinic wishing there were a faster, more reliable way to get critical patients through the door, this is that company.
To Apply
Send a note on why pet emergency care + startups is the intersection you want to build in, along with your background. Happy to share the full deck and financial model on a first call.
Technical Co-Founder
Role: Co-Founder & Head of Technology Location: Remote (on-site/hybrid — must be or willing to relocate later) Commitment: Full-time, unpaid (equity-based) until seed funding closes Compensation: Sweat equity — co-founder-level stake, to be discussed based on fit and contribution
What We're Looking For
We need a technical co-founder to own the product that makes this whole thing run — dispatch, tracking, clinic-facing tools, and the consumer app/website experience. Today the landing page is a static, self-contained build meant to capture demand. The real product — live dispatch, real-time tracking, two-sided marketplace logic connecting clinics and pet owners — still needs to be built, and that's you.
You:
5+ years of experience building and shipping web and/or mobile applications, ideally including consumer-facing products
Comfortable owning the full stack — from architecture decisions to actually writing the product
Product instincts, not just engineering execution — you can help shape what we build and why, not just how
Experience with (or strong interest in) two-sided marketplace or logistics/dispatch products is a big plus
Founder mentality: equity-first mindset, comfortable with unpaid early-stage work, ready to build fast and iterate
Bonus: experience with real-time location tracking, scheduling/dispatch systems, or healthcare-adjacent products
What you'd own:
Product and technical architecture for the PawMedic platform (consumer app, clinic dashboard, dispatch system)
Build/buy decisions and technical roadmap as we go from waitlist to live dispatch
Data infrastructure to support real-time tracking and two-sided marketplace matching
Technical hiring as the team scales post-funding
Why This Role
This is a true co-founder seat — equity, decision rights, and company direction are shared, not delegated. You'd be the technical foundation of a company entering a real, underserved market with a validated model and early traction already in motion.
To Apply
Send a note on your background and what draws you to this problem to [email protected]. Happy to walk through the deck, the landing page build, and the roadmap on a first call.
