Shopify Developer & Ecommerce Management

This is not an entry-level role. We are not looking for someone who just knows Shopify basics or has never touched a live store. We need someone who can code in Shopify with strong technical fundamentals, manage backend operations across both Shopify and Magento 2 [Coding knowledge from Magento 2 is not required], and deliver pixel-perfect, highly responsive websites. You will be expected to use AI coding tools to ship faster. If your experience is limited to tutorials, you cannot code in Liquid, or you've never managed backend operations on a live store, this will not work.

What you will own:
You will own both the Shopify and Magento 2 storefronts end-to-end. This includes coding and customizing Shopify, managing backend operations for both platforms, ensuring pixel-perfect responsive design across all devices, and maintaining platform stability. You will work closely with our specialized Magento 2 developer on backend architecture, but you own day-to-day operations, deployments, and storefront delivery on both platforms. Your work directly impacts sales and customer experience.

What you will do:

• Write real Liquid code for Shopify customizations, not just configuration
• Build responsive designs with meticulous attention to detail across all screen sizes (mobile, tablet, desktop)
• Use AI coding tools to accelerate development and ship faster
• Manage backend operations for both Shopify and Magento 2 (settings, configuration, extensions, troubleshooting)
• Handle product uploads, catalog management, and data migrations on both platforms
• Work with our specialized Magento 2 developer on backend solutions, but own implementation and stability
• Optimize site performance (page speed, loading times, asset optimization, CDN setup)
• Integrate third-party apps and APIs (payment gateways, shipping providers, inventory systems, analytics)
• Debug and fix issues across both platforms independently
• Collaborate with graphic team member to ensure pixel-perfect implementation of designs
• Set up and maintain proper tracking and analytics integration
• Manage staging/production deployments and version control
• Document all custom code, processes, and maintain clear code standards

What we are looking for:

• Real hands-on experience building and coding live Shopify stores (not theme customization alone)
• Strong Liquid coding skills with proven ability to build custom solutions
• Solid HTML/CSS/JavaScript fundamentals with ability to write clean, maintainable code
• Experience managing Magento 2 backend operations, configuration, and troubleshooting
• Ability to diagnose and fix ecommerce platform issues independently on both platforms
• Proven eye for responsive design and ability to catch layout/responsive issues on every device
• Experience with common ecommerce integrations (payment processors, shipping providers, inventory systems)
• Understanding of performance optimization and ability to identify and fix speed bottlenecks
• Comfortable working with APIs and third-party tool integrations
• Experience handling product data, catalog management, and migrations
• Ability to use AI coding tools effectively to write code faster

Good to have:

• Experience optimizing for conversions and understanding ecommerce best practices
• Familiarity with Git/version control and collaborative development workflows
• Experience with Shopify advanced customization
• Experience with email integration or marketing automation platforms
• Basic knowledge of SQL for database queries in Magento 2 contexts
• Portfolio or live store examples demonstrating responsive design quality and custom code
• Experience working alongside backend/specialist developers on the same projects
