FinSwitz is building financial infrastructure for organizations across Africa. We provide payment collection, disbursement, integrations, and financial tools that help businesses, schools, churches, NGOs, and other organizations manage payments more efficiently.

We are looking for a Full-Stack Engineer to join our growing engineering team and help build, scale, and improve the FinSwitz platform.

What you'll do

Build and maintain scalable frontend and backend features for the FinSwitz platform.
Develop and maintain REST APIs and backend services.
Build responsive and reliable web applications using modern frontend technologies.
Integrate payment gateways, financial APIs, third-party services, and other external systems.
Work with databases, caching, authentication, background jobs, and cloud infrastructure.
Write clean, maintainable, well-tested and production-ready code.
Identify and resolve performance, security, reliability, and scalability issues.
Collaborate with product, business development, and growth teams to turn business requirements into technical solutions.
Participate in architecture and technical decision-making as the platform grows across African markets.
Monitor and improve application performance, reliability, and developer experience.

What we're looking for

3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
Strong experience with JavaScript/TypeScript.
Strong experience with React and/or Next.js.
Strong backend experience with Node.js and a backend framework such as Express or NestJS.
Experience working with relational and/or NoSQL databases.
Strong understanding of REST APIs and third-party integrations.
Experience with Git and modern software development workflows.
Understanding of authentication, authorization, security, and API best practices.
Ability to work independently, take ownership, and make sound technical decisions.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

Experience working with fintech, payments, banking, or financial APIs.
Experience integrating payment providers such as Paystack, Flutterwave, Stripe, or mobile-money platforms.
Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Redis, Prisma, or similar technologies.
Experience with cloud platforms and CI/CD.
Experience building systems for African markets.
