What you’ll own

You’ll own applied AI systems that power fast, dependable product experiences: LLM pipelines, prompting, evaluations, speech and transcription workflows, latency, reliability, and multi-provider integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Build and improve production LLM pipelines for real-time product use cases.
• Design prompts, structured outputs, routing, fallbacks, and evaluation workflows.
• Improve speech and transcription quality, responsiveness, and failure handling.
• Reduce end-to-end latency while protecting answer quality and reliability.
• Integrate and operate multiple AI providers with clear monitoring and sensible tradeoffs.
• Work with product engineering to turn customer needs into practical AI capabilities.

Required skills

• Practical experience shipping software that uses modern AI models or APIs.
• Strong general software engineering and debugging skills.
• Familiarity with prompting, evaluation, data analysis, and production reliability.
• Ability to reason clearly about quality, latency, cost, and user experience.
• Clear communication and comfort owning work in a distributed team.

Useful nice-to-haves

• Speech recognition, transcription, audio, or streaming systems.
• Multi-provider LLM routing, fallbacks, or observability.
• TypeScript, Python, or backend API experience.
• Experience designing evaluation sets or quality-review workflows.

Remote work and employment

This is a full-time, remote-only role open to applicants worldwide. We work as a distributed team and value independent ownership, clear written communication, and dependable collaboration. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not available.

The annual salary range is $150,000–$230,000 USD, depending on location and experience, with 0.1%–0.5% equity available.

Hiring process

The process is fully remote: application review, an introductory video conversation, a role-focused video interview discussing relevant AI systems and practical tradeoffs, and a final remote video conversation.
