What you’ll own

You’ll own backend systems that make Interview Copilot fast and dependable, including APIs, Cloudflare Workers, real-time services, PostgreSQL data flows, reliability, and product integrations.

Key responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain clear, reliable APIs and backend services.
• Improve real-time streaming paths for low latency, resilience, and observability.
• Develop and operate services using TypeScript, Cloudflare Workers, and PostgreSQL.
• Build dependable integrations with external product, speech, and AI services.
• Strengthen testing, monitoring, security, privacy, and operational readiness.
• Work closely with product engineers to ship complete customer-facing improvements.

Required skills

• Practical experience building and operating production backend systems.
• Strong API design, SQL, and general software engineering fundamentals.
• Experience with TypeScript or a comparable backend language.
• Sound judgment about reliability, maintainability, and tradeoffs.
• Clear communication and comfort owning work in a distributed team.

Useful nice-to-haves

• Cloudflare Workers or another edge/serverless platform.
• PostgreSQL performance and data modeling.
• WebSockets, streaming systems, queues, or real-time audio.
• Production integrations with AI or speech providers.

Remote work and employment

This is a full-time, remote-only role open to applicants worldwide. We work as a distributed team and value independent ownership, clear written communication, and dependable collaboration. Visa sponsorship and relocation are not available.

The annual salary range is $150,000–$230,000 USD, depending on location and experience, with 0.1%–0.5% equity available.

Hiring process

The process is fully remote: application review, an introductory video conversation, a role-focused video interview discussing relevant systems and engineering decisions, and a final remote video conversation.
