Product Manager
Company Overview
HopDrive is building the enterprise-ready mobility platform for the automotive industry. What began as a driver-behind-the-wheel solution for dealership pickup and delivery has evolved into a configurable SaaS and managed-services platform that helps automotive organizations orchestrate short-haul vehicle movement, manage mobility tasks, and track employee productivity.
Our platform supports service concierge, remote test drives, shuttle services, consumer-paid vehicle moves, and more. Customers can use HopDrive as SaaS to manage their own teams or as a full-service solution supported by HopDrive-provided valet labor and operational resources.
We are a growing startup that believes ambitious goals and a healthy work-life balance can go hand in hand. We value collaborative team members with a growth mindset, strong work ethic, and enthusiasm for building something meaningful. HopDrive is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace that welcomes people from all backgrounds.
Job Description
HopDrive is looking for a Product Manager to help define how our products evolve and own the product lifecycle from business need through successful adoption and measurable value.
This is a highly cross-functional role spanning product strategy, business workflows, technical delivery, launch, and adoption. You will work with Technology, Client Success, Sales, Operations, Finance, Marketing, leadership, customers, and end users to understand problems, shape solutions, and ensure what we build is useful, cohesive, understood, and adopted.
HopDrive uses a Shape Up-inspired process where valuable ideas can come from anywhere. This role creates continuity by turning business needs into well-shaped opportunities, partnering with Technology throughout delivery, preparing the organization for launch, and staying accountable after release until value is realized.
You will also help maintain coherence across two related product worlds: customers using our software to operate their own teams and customers using HopDrive as a full-service mobility solution. The right person is curious about how work is actually performed, willing to get into the field and use the product firsthand, comfortable challenging assumptions, and able to build trust across technical and nontechnical teams.
What You'll Do
- Develop a deep understanding of HopDrive's customers, users, products, operational workflows, business model, and strategic priorities.
- Spend time with users and operators in real working environments, including using HopDrive's driver and mobility products firsthand and traveling to an active market when needed.
- Gather product opportunities from customers, business teams, Technology, leadership, usage data, and field observations, then translate requests into clear problems, user needs, outcomes, constraints, and success criteria.
- Maintain a cohesive product roadmap and help leadership understand priorities, sequencing, dependencies, tradeoffs, and what is not being prioritized.
- Maintain coherence across HopDrive's SaaS and full-service offerings, identifying where workflows and capabilities should align and where they should intentionally differ.
- Steward HopDrive's Shape Up process by leading discovery and shaping, refining or co-authoring pitches, and preparing opportunities for leadership prioritization and betting.
- Define success measures before work begins and ensure the analytics, instrumentation, reporting, or operational signals needed to measure usage, adoption, and business impact are included in delivery plans.
- Partner closely with Technology throughout delivery to provide business context, clarify product decisions, resolve scope questions, coordinate demos, and keep stakeholders aligned.
- Involve representative end users early enough to validate real-world workflows rather than relying only on approval from the original stakeholder.
- Own launch readiness and rollout planning, including affected teams, customers, documentation, training, communications, support needs, and sales or client enablement.
- Work in close partnership with the Marketing Manager on launches, messaging, customer communications, sales enablement, and materials needed to introduce new capabilities effectively.
- Coordinate with subject-matter experts to ensure release notes, communications, training, documentation, SOP changes, support readiness, and customer-facing materials are completed when needed.
- Drive post-launch adoption by monitoring usage, feedback, support signals, workflow fit, and business outcomes, then coordinating improvements and post-launch reviews.
- Build repeatable product, launch, and adoption practices that improve clarity and accountability without unnecessary bureaucracy.
What Success Looks Like
- Product opportunities are shaped around clear business problems, real user needs, and measurable outcomes before Technology begins building.
- Success is measured by value delivered to users and the business, not simply by projects completed or features deployed.
- HopDrive has a more coherent roadmap and intentionally evolving SaaS and full-service product experiences.
- Business stakeholders contribute expertise and timely decisions without being expected to act as temporary product managers, project managers, trainers, and rollout coordinators.
- Representative end users validate workflows before launch, reducing cases where technically complete features are later viewed as unusable.
- Significant launches include the measurement, communication, documentation, training, and enablement needed to support adoption.
- Marketing, Sales, Client Success, Operations, and Technology have the context and materials needed to explain, support, operate, and promote new capabilities.
- Feedback, usage data, field observations, and post-launch learning consistently inform future priorities and improvements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
- At least five years of experience in product management, product operations, business systems, software implementation, program management, consulting, or a related role with meaningful end-to-end product ownership.
- Demonstrated experience taking software products or major capabilities from discovery through delivery, launch, adoption, measurement, and ongoing improvement.
- Experience with B2B SaaS, operational or workflow software, marketplaces, logistics technology, or similarly complex products.
- Strong product discovery and problem-framing skills, including the ability to distinguish an underlying problem from a requested solution.
- Strong technical fluency and the ability to work credibly with software engineers on systems behavior, APIs and integrations, data flows, analytics, instrumentation, technical constraints, and delivery tradeoffs. Software development experience is not required.
- Experience defining product success metrics and using analytics, reporting, telemetry, or operational data to evaluate usage and outcomes.
- Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, organization, and project-management skills with disciplined follow-through.
- Experience coordinating product launches, software rollouts, training, enablement, change management, or other adoption-focused work.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Marketing, Sales, Client Success, Operations, and technical teams around launches and adoption.
- Proactive, pragmatic, and comfortable working independently in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Willingness to spend time in the field with customers, users, and operating teams and travel occasionally when firsthand observation is valuable.
- Experience with Shape Up is helpful but not required. Sound product judgment and thoughtful process adaptation matter more than experience with a specific framework.
- Automotive, mobility, logistics, or dealership technology experience preferred.
