Software Engineer (Backend, Python)

We're looking for outstanding backend engineers with a Python background to join our core platform team. In this role, you'll help build the AI layer on top of our cloud-based web crawling platform, to drive productivity and unlock new possibilities.

We have multiple openings at different levels — entry-level as well as mid-senior-level candidates can apply.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, deploy, and maintain scalable software and services
• Write clean, well-tested, reusable, and maintainable code — and use AI tooling to get there faster without lowering the bar
• Collaborate with front-end engineers to integrate user-facing features with backend logic
• Unblock, support, and communicate with customers and internal partners to achieve results
• Write high-quality design specs and operational documentation
• Constantly raise the bar on engineering excellence ## What We're Looking For

Must have

• 2+ years of backend software development experience
• Proficiency with Python
• Strong understanding of web technologies: HTML, JavaScript, HTTP
• Solid computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, distributed systems
• Experience working with databases, relational or NoSQL
• Strong AWS (or other public cloud) experience
• Hands-on fluency with AI coding assistants and agents (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar) as part of your daily workflow, along with the judgment to know when to trust their output and when not to
• Ability to take ownership and work independently
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS or a related field
• Lots of passion, creativity, and a can-do attitude

Nice to have

• Experience building web crawling or large-scale data extraction software
• Front-end development experience with Next.js or React.js

• Understanding of cyber-security, especially web application firewalls
