About the job
Company Description ElasticDash: runs open source inside the customer’s own cloud account: Langfuse, n8n, Airflow, Dagster, ClickHouse, PostHog, plus self-hosted vLLM on their own GPUs. One click lands it in their AWS, Azure or GCP with HA, backups, audit logging and SSO already on. We carry every upgrade, CVE and 4am page after that.
Our customers are banks and world-leading SaaS companies. Enterprise only. The team is small enough that accounts like those are yours in the first month.
Role Description: The Forward Deployed Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in the San Francisco Bay Area. In this role, you work directly with customers to understand their infrastructure, deploy ElasticDash-managed applications into their cloud accounts, and ensure each deployment is production-ready. You will design and implement backend services and automation to handle upgrades, migrations, monitoring, and incident response across diverse environments. Day-to-day responsibilities include building and maintaining integrations with AWS, Azure, and GCP, writing robust code to manage deployments and operations, and troubleshooting complex issues in live customer environments. You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to improve the platform, translate real-world customer needs into technical solutions, and help shape best practices for secure, reliable self-hosting.
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade services.
- 5+ years of hands-on Back-End Development experiences, including API design, performance optimization, and reliability.
- 3+ years of experience with Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and designing maintainable, testable codebases.
- 3+ years of experience deploying and operating services on AWS, Azure, or GCP, including networking, security, and observability.
- Comfort working directly with customers, gathering requirements, and translating them into technical solutions.
- Familiarity with containers (e.g. Docker), orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes), CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
- Ability to work on-site in the San Francisco Bay Area and collaborate in a fast-paced startup environment.
