About the Role
The Business Systems Manager serves as the primary technical owner and administrator for the company’s enterprise application portfolio. Reporting to executive leadership, this role bridges the gap between business operations and technical infrastructure. You will manage critical ERP (Sage), financial, and HR platforms while overseeing a Managed Service Provider (MSP) for network and desktop support. As the lead technical engineer, you will drive digital transformation initiatives, including cloud migration and data strategy, to modernize operations across production, sales, and logistics.
What You'll Do
- Primary operational and technical owner of the application portfolio including our primary greenhouse/nursery ERP (SBI Grower), our financial platform (Sage), and our HR/Payroll software (ADP). In addition, you will oversee our e-commerce platform (Shopify) and productivity applications like Adobe, Microsoft, Crystal Reports, and Avantalytics
- Manage the administration and architecture of the enterprise application portfolio, including ERP (Sage), financial/HR (ADP) systems.
- Oversee operational workflows for order management, inventory control, and production planning, including EDI integrations with major retailers.
- Develop custom reports, dashboards, and SQL queries to support data-driven decision-making across finance, supply chain, and sales teams.
- Lead digital transformation projects, focusing on system modernization, cloud migration, and the implementation of AI and data analytics strategies.
- Act as the primary liaison for the Managed Service Provider to ensure infrastructure reliability, cybersecurity compliance, and helpdesk performance.
- Author and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, standard operating procedures, and system architecture diagrams for all business processes.
- Evaluate cross-functional workflows to identify opportunities for technology-driven automation and continuous process improvement.
- Coordinate end-user training and provide senior-level technical escalation support for complex application and data issues.
What You Bring
- 3+ years of experience in ERP system administration or core business systems management, preferably Sage
- Proven experience managing enterprise platforms within manufacturing, distribution, or supply chain environments.
- Technical proficiency in SQL query writing, database structures, and data integration techniques.
- Functional knowledge of accounting systems and payroll/HRMS platforms.
- Experience managing third-party IT vendors, Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and service contracts.
- Hands-on knowledge of Windows environments, network infrastructure (VPNs, LAN/WAN), and specialized peripheral hardware.
- Preferred Location: On-site or Hybrid for candidates living within a commutable distance to Grand Saline, TX (allows for direct, hands-on support with the team and on-site infrastructure).
