About the Job
If you've spent years building relationships with technology reporters, know how to turn complex products, emerging technologies, and business trends into compelling stories, and can lead both clients and teams without needing constant oversight, let's talk.
We're looking for a senior communications leader who understands the technology landscape and knows how to help companies, founders, and executives break through a crowded media environment. From emerging startups and high-growth companies to established technology brands, you'll play a critical role in shaping narratives, driving visibility, and positioning clients as leaders in their categories.
One important note: this role involves a lot of pitching. If media relations is your favorite part of PR, you'll have plenty of opportunities to do it here.
What You'll Do
- Lead PR strategy and media relations programs for technology clients
- Develop communications strategies that position companies, products, founders, and executives as leaders in their markets
- Translate complex technology, products, and business concepts into compelling stories for mainstream and industry audiences
- Oversee day-to-day account management and keep projects moving on schedule
- Serve as a senior strategic advisor and trusted point of contact for clients
- Develop story ideas, messaging, media plans, launch strategies, and executive positioning programs
- Write and edit press releases, media pitches, thought leadership pieces, bylines, executive communications, and other client materials
- Pitch technology, business, startup, innovation, and mainstream reporters, editors, producers, podcast hosts, and influencers to secure meaningful coverage
- Build and maintain strong relationships with technology and business media across digital, print, broadcast, podcasts, newsletters, and emerging platforms
- Identify news hooks and cultural moments that can generate meaningful opportunities for clients
- Counsel founders, CEOs, and senior executives on media strategy, messaging, interviews, and thought leadership
- Lead product launches, company announcements, funding announcements, executive appointments, and other high-profile communications initiatives
- Mentor junior and mid-level team members and help strengthen their media relations, writing, and client management skills
- Support new business efforts, participate in pitches, and identify opportunities to grow existing technology accounts
What We're Looking For
- Significant experience working in a PR agency environment
- Direct experience managing technology clients, ideally across areas such as AI, SaaS, cybersecurity, fintech, enterprise technology, consumer technology, or emerging technology
- Strong relationships with technology, business, startup, and mainstream media
- A proven ability to secure meaningful, high-quality coverage
- Experience developing and executing media strategies for technology companies, executives, and founders
- Experience securing coverage across digital, print, broadcast, podcasts, newsletters, and speaking opportunities
- Ability to understand complex technology and translate it into clear, compelling narratives
- Excellent writing, storytelling, and communication skills
- Confidence managing senior executives, founders, and other high-level clients
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to confidently articulate strategic recommendations
- Ability to navigate challenging client conversations and provide thoughtful, direct counsel
- Proven ability to lead projects and teams while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- A self-starter who is proactive, resourceful, curious, and doesn't wait to be told what needs to happen next
- A genuine interest in technology, innovation, startups, and the evolving media landscape
Here's what actually matters:
You'll work directly with founders, CEOs, executives, and decision-makers, have real influence over client strategy, and spend your time creating stories and securing meaningful media opportunities rather than chasing vanity metrics.
You'll have the opportunity to work across some of the most dynamic areas of technology — from AI and SaaS to emerging platforms, cybersecurity, fintech, and consumer technology. You'll help companies explain what they're building, why it matters, and why people should pay attention.
If you enjoy building relationships with reporters, finding the story inside complex technology, creating narratives that break through the noise, and helping innovative companies establish credibility and influence, you'll fit in well here.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working in a PR agency environment
- Direct experience managing financial services clients
- Strong media relationships and a proven ability to secure coverage that matters

- Confidence managing clients, presenting ideas, and navigating challenging conversations when needed
- Ability to lead projects and teams while balancing multiple priorities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- A self-starter who doesn't wait to be told what needs to happen next
