Why This Opportunity Stands Out
Our client offers a flexible opportunity for an established investment, banking, wealth management, or advisory professional to leverage an existing investor network alongside their current career or client portfolio.
The role is designed to require approximately 20–25% of your professional time, with remote working, flexible hours, and no requirement to leave your existing position or advisory business.
Rather than sourcing investment opportunities yourself, you'll have access to a pipeline of technology startups and focus on what you do best: building trusted investor relationships, understanding investment preferences, and connecting the right investors with relevant opportunities.
Compensation is primarily performance-based, creating meaningful earning potential from successful transactions, with the possibility of a base retainer for the right candidate.
The Opportunity
Our client operates a platform connecting promising technology startups with investors while providing consulting and matchmaking services to both sides.
They are looking for a highly connected Investor Relations Manager / Strategic Capital Partnerships professional who can develop and manage relationships with private investors and introduce carefully selected startup investment opportunities to them.
This is not a traditional full-time position. It is particularly well suited to someone who already works as a private banker, wealth manager, financial advisor, investment professional, independent consultant, or in a similar capacity and wants to leverage their professional network alongside their existing work.
The approach is deliberately relationship-driven: understand what investors actually want, provide relevant and curated opportunities, and build trust over time rather than relying on transactional cold pitching.
What You'll Do
Build and manage a network of investors interested in technology, startups, and alternative investment opportunities
Develop relationships with HNWIs, angel investors, syndicate leads, private wealth professionals, and other active investors
Introduce carefully selected startup investment opportunities to suitable investors
Understand each investor's investment thesis, sector preferences, risk appetite, ticket size, and broader investment criteria
Develop long-term investor relationships based on trust and relevance
Present investment opportunities clearly, professionally, and concisely
Manage investor conversations through the pitching, negotiation, and closing process
Build and maintain relationships with incubators, accelerators, angel networks, wealth managers, and other ecosystem partners
Evaluate startup deal flow and identify appropriate investor matches
Act as a bridge between founders and investors throughout the investment process
Who They're Looking For
Strong candidates are likely to have experience in one or more of the following areas:
Private Banking
Wealth Management
Financial Advisory
Investment Management
Angel or Venture Investing
Family Offices
Investor Relations
Capital Raising
Startup Investment Networks
Independent Financial or Investment Consulting
The Most Important Requirement: Your Network
The key requirement for this opportunity is an existing network of relevant investors.
Our client is specifically looking for someone who already has established relationships with individuals or organizations that have significant investable capital and an appetite for startup, technology, or alternative investment opportunities.
You should be comfortable engaging with sophisticated investors, understanding their objectives and preferences, building trusted long-term relationships, and introducing opportunities when there is a genuine fit.
This position is therefore best suited to someone bringing an established network rather than someone looking to build their investor contacts entirely from scratch.
Working Model
This is a remote, flexible, part-time/fractional opportunity.
You can continue working with your current employer, advisory business, or clients while dedicating a portion of your professional time to this role.
For someone with the right network, the expected commitment is approximately 20–25% of professional working time, with considerable flexibility around how that time is structured.
Compensation
Compensation is primarily performance and commission-based, with earnings linked to successfully generated investment transactions.
For the right candidate, a basic retainer or fixed payment may also be discussed, although the majority of the earning potential is expected to come from commissions and successful deals.
This structure can provide an attractive additional revenue opportunity for established professionals who want to capitalize on their existing relationships without stepping away from their current career or client base.
Ideal Candidate
You may already have a successful career in banking, wealth management, financial advisory, investing, capital raising, or consulting and have spent years developing relationships with HNWIs and sophisticated investors.
You enjoy networking, opening doors, developing trusted relationships, and connecting the right people with the right opportunities.
If you already have the investor relationships, our client can provide the opportunities.
