Summary

We are seeking an experienced Microsoft Purview Architect with a minimum of 5 years of experience in data governance, information protection, compliance, and enterprise data management. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting Microsoft Purview solutions that enable effective data discovery, classification, governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance across the organization.

This role will work closely with business stakeholders, security teams, data architects, and cloud platform teams to establish enterprise-wide data governance frameworks and ensure information assets are properly protected throughout their lifecycle within the Microsoft ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and support enterprise data governance, compliance, and information protection solutions using Microsoft Purview.
  • Lead the development and implementation of data governance frameworks that promote trusted, secure, and well-managed data across the organization.
  • Configure and manage Microsoft Purview Data Map and Data Catalog capabilities to support data discovery, metadata management, and improved visibility of enterprise data assets.
  • Implement data lineage capabilities to provide end-to-end visibility into data movement, transformations, and dependencies across the data ecosystem.
  • Establish and support data quality processes and controls to improve the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of enterprise data assets.
  • Design and implement Information Protection capabilities, including Sensitivity Labels, to classify and protect sensitive information throughout its lifecycle.
  • Configure and support Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies to help prevent unauthorized access, sharing, or exposure of sensitive data.
  • Utilize Compliance Manager to assess, monitor, and support compliance with organizational, regulatory, and industry requirements.
  • Leverage Data Estate Insights to monitor governance maturity, identify risks, and support continuous improvement of data management practices.
  • Integrate Microsoft Purview with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics to enable unified governance across enterprise data platforms.
  • Collaborate with business, security, and technology teams to ensure data governance, privacy, compliance, and information protection requirements are effectively implemented.
  • Provide architectural leadership and guidance on governance, compliance, metadata management, and enterprise data management best practices.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, enterprise data management, information protection, compliance, or related disciplines.
  • Strong experience implementing and managing Microsoft Purview Data Map and Data Catalog capabilities to support enterprise data discovery, classification, and metadata management.
  • Experience designing and maintaining data lineage solutions to provide visibility, traceability, and impact analysis across enterprise data assets.
  • Knowledge of data quality frameworks, processes, and controls used to ensure trusted and reliable data for business and analytics use cases.
  • Hands-on experience implementing Information Protection capabilities, including Sensitivity Labels, to classify and safeguard sensitive information.
  • Experience designing and administering Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies and controls to protect organizational data and support compliance requirements.
  • Experience using Compliance Manager to assess compliance posture, manage controls, and support regulatory and governance obligations.
  • Knowledge of Data Estate Insights and governance reporting to measure adoption, data maturity, and governance effectiveness.
  • Experience integrating Microsoft Purview with Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Lake, and Azure Synapse Analytics to support enterprise-wide governance and data management.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 Compliance and Governance capabilities, including privacy, retention, information protection, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, security teams, data architects, and cloud platform teams to deliver enterprise governance solutions.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate governance and compliance requirements into practical technical solutions.
