About the job
Job Type: Unpaid Internship
Job Title: UX Research & Design Intern
Location: 100% Remote (United States based ONLY)
Commitment: 15-20hrs/week
About the Role
We're looking for a UX Research & Design Intern to help shape the digital experience for the enterprise products we build. You'll work directly with our Senior Designer and a small, collaborative team of design interns — running research, building wireframes and prototypes, and turning real user feedback into design decisions that ship. This isn't a "make coffee and watch" internship: you'll own pieces of real projects from day one.
About Us
We're a small, fast-moving tech startup helping enterprise organizations modernize their technology through our online resources and tools. Because we're small, you'll get direct access to leadership, fast feedback loops, and visibility into how design decisions actually affect the business — not just a slice of a massive team.
What You'll Do
- Help define user journeys, strategy, and feature recommendations across multiple projects, balancing user needs with business and technical constraints
- Build wireframes and prototypes to improve the user experience across our product suite
- Research what drives user goals, pain points, and needs — and translate that into mental models and personas the team can design around
- Weigh in on delivery timelines and release schedules for the design roadmap
- Turn business requirements and user needs into design solutions that are genuinely usable and engaging
- Create and refine user journey maps, sitemaps, user-flow diagrams, and wireframes
- Collaborate on interaction models and prototypes, from high-level flows down to micro-interactions
- Put together project briefs, presentations, and competitive analyses to communicate design recommendations and test results to stakeholders
What We're Looking For (Requirements)
- Currently enrolled in, or recently completed, a UX/design bootcamp, workshop, online program, or bachelor's degree in UX, graphic design, HCI, or a related field
- Solid grasp of UI/UX best practices, trends, and core design principles
- Comfort working in Figma (or similar design tools)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills — you'll be presenting your work to the team
- Sharp problem-solving and critical-thinking instincts
- Able to commit 15–20 hours/week
- Visual design skills are a plus, but not required
What You'll Get
- Real, hands-on UX research and design experience on live enterprise products — not busywork
- Direct mentorship from a Senior Designer and close collaboration with a small design team
- Portfolio-ready work: journey maps, prototypes, research findings, and shipped design decisions
- Exposure to enterprise IT and emerging tech, plus a network of experienced professionals in the space
- Flexible, fully remote schedule
How to Apply
Send your resume and a design portfolio (Figma links welcome) showing your process, not just polished final screens — we want to see how you think.
