Full-Stack Engineer — Backend-Focused | AI Startup

We’re looking for a Full-Stack Engineer with strong backend experience to join our early-stage AI startup.

We’re building an AI-powered platform from the ground up, so this is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys solving difficult technical problems, shipping quickly, and taking ownership beyond a narrowly defined job description.

You’ll work across the stack, but your primary focus will be on backend architecture, APIs, data systems, AI integrations, and building reliable infrastructure that can scale with the product.

What You’ll Do

• Design and build backend services, APIs, and core platform architecture
• Integrate LLMs, AI models, agents, and third-party services into production workflows
• Build scalable data processing and asynchronous/background systems
• Develop full-stack product features when needed
• Design databases, authentication, permissions, and application infrastructure
• Improve system reliability, performance, monitoring, and security
• Work directly with the founding team on product and technical decisions
• Move quickly from idea → implementation → production
• Help shape engineering standards and architecture as the company grows

What We’re Looking For

• Strong backend engineering experience
• Solid full-stack development experience
• Experience designing production APIs and database-backed applications
• Strong understanding of system architecture and scalable backend design
• Experience with modern cloud infrastructure and deployment
• Comfortable working with AI/LLM APIs and building AI-powered applications
• Able to work independently and take ownership of features from start to finish
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, early-stage startup environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work across different parts of the product

Experience with technologies such as Python, Node.js, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, AWS/GCP, React/Next.js, LLM APIs, vector databases, queues, or agent frameworks is a plus.

Compensation

We want to be transparent about our current stage.

Until our fundraising is completed, compensation will be:

$1,500/month base salary + equity

After the funding round is completed, the position will transition to a full competitive salary, with compensation adjusted based on experience, responsibilities, and company funding.
