Overview:

The Associate Principal position involves the design and detailing of structural systems for large, complex structures across multiple market sectors, primarily Type I construction. The ideal candidate will serve as a leader within the firm, develop client relationships, and help drive future project opportunities. This role requires strong management skills to lead teams of structural engineers and BIM designers while working closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants to achieve successful project outcomes. The position offers significant opportunities for growth and exposure to a wide variety of exciting and challenging projects.

Duties:

• Design and detail structural systems for large, complex structures across multiple market sectors, primarily Type I construction.
• Serve as a leader within the firm and support the development of future client opportunities.
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support continued project success.
• Lead teams of structural engineers and BIM designers in a dynamic office environment.
• Steer projects toward successful outcomes while working closely with architects, contractors, and other consultants.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance throughout project delivery.
• Support the successful execution of challenging and high-profile structural engineering projects.
• Gain exposure to a wide variety of exciting projects with opportunities for professional growth.

Experience/Qualifications:

• 12+ years of building design experience.
• Experience with a wide variety of structural materials and building types, with emphasis on the design of larger steel and concrete structures across multiple market sectors.
• Structural Engineer (SE) license required.
• Recognized as a leader in the structural engineering industry.
• Proven track record with clients in delivering successful projects and maintaining established client relationships.
• Ability to act as a strong and decisive leader.
• Strong technical ability, preferably with unique strengths within a specific technical area or market sector.
• Experience with DSA and HCAI/OSHPD projects is a plus.
• Experience with seismic evaluation and retrofit of existing buildings using ASCE 41 is a plus.
• Master’s degree from a U.S. university in Structural Engineering is highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States and currently located in the U.S.
