Responsibilities:
Remediate security vulnerabilities identified under Project Aegis, ensuring compliance with cybersecurity standards.
Perform operating system upgrades, patching, and hardening of Unix/Linux environments to enhance security and stability.
Analyze and resolve compliance findings related to cybersecurity controls, supporting audit and assessment activities.
Develop, maintain, and optimize Unix shell scripts (Bash, Korn, Python) to automate routine tasks and improve operational efficiency.
Support application teams during remediation efforts, testing procedures, and production deployments to ensure smooth implementation.
Participate in decommissioning legacy infrastructure, reducing technical debt and associated risks.
Collaborate with security, architecture, cloud, and infrastructure teams to meet Aegis compliance targets and security best practices.
Document remediation activities, implementation procedures, and operational runbooks for future reference and knowledge sharing.
Assist with production changes, emergency remediation activities, and incident response when required.
Track progress of remediation efforts, providing regular status updates to project leadership and stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Minimum of 6+ years of experience in Unix/Linux administration and support.
Strong proficiency in Unix/Shell scripting languages such as Bash, Korn, and Python.
Hands-on experience with vulnerability remediation, security hardening, and compliance standards.
Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, including networking and security controls.
Experience working with CI/CD tools, automation frameworks, and monitoring solutions.
Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Work Environment:
Onsite position based in Boston, MA.
