About the job
About FILTR
FILTR is an AI-powered research platform for people who create. We’re building a human-curated library of references across fashion, music, film, advertising, design, technology, media, culture, and ideas—then using AI to make that research easier to discover, connect, and use.
About the Role
We’re looking for an analytical, detail-oriented AI & Database Operations Intern to help transform FILTR’s curated research into structured, high-quality data.
This role sits between AI and database operations.
Once references have been researched, curated, and approved for FILTR, you’ll help move them through our ingestion pipeline. You’ll use AI tools to extract information, apply FILTR’s tagging system, validate outputs, prepare SQL for database insertion, and maintain the quality of the existing library.
You won’t simply generate AI outputs. A major part of the role is learning how to evaluate, refine, and verify them before they become part of the product.
What You’ll Do
- Process approved articles, videos, campaigns, interviews, and other references for ingestion into FILTR.
- Extract and structure information from source material using established workflows.
- Use AI tools including Claude and ChatGPT to generate tags and metadata according to FILTR’s taxonomy.
- Review and validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, relevance, consistency, and completeness.
- Prepare SQL INSERT statements for approved records using established database schemas and templates.
- Verify URLs, authors, sources, publication dates, images, entities, and other metadata before ingestion.
- Conduct ongoing database QA to identify broken links, missing information, duplicates, tagging inconsistencies, and other data-quality issues.
- Maintain clear records of processed references and database issues.
- Identify recurring problems in AI outputs or database records and help improve the workflows used to prevent them.
- Work directly with FILTR’s founder as we continue developing and refining our AI-assisted ingestion system.
What We’re Looking For
You might be a great fit if you enjoy figuring out how information should be organized, categorized, and structured.
You’re comfortable experimenting with AI tools, attentive to small inconsistencies, and naturally inclined to check whether something is actually correct before considering it finished.
We’re especially interested in students studying computer science, data science, information systems, business analytics, information science, AI, or related fields.
Experience with SQL is helpful, but *you don't need to be an expert. *More important is your willingness to learn, follow structured workflows, troubleshoot problems, and critically evaluate AI-generated information.
Familiarity with ChatGPT, Claude, databases, structured data, or AI-assisted workflows is a plus.
What You’ll Learn
You’ll gain hands-on experience working with the operational layer behind an early-stage AI product.
You’ll learn how human-curated research moves through an AI-assisted data pipeline; how taxonomies and metadata make information discoverable; how LLM outputs are evaluated and refined; how SQL is used to prepare structured records for a live database; and how data quality affects the performance of a research product.
You’ll also work directly with FILTR’s founder and have an opportunity to help shape the systems and processes that support the platform as it grows.
