SALARY
- The minimum salary is $56,754.88 annually.
- This position is not eligible for overtime (exempt); however, the city has a compensatory time leave program for employees that grants leave time for hours worked in excess of forty hours.
- Pay Grade 520

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The purpose of this classification is to perform work in the planning and management of major, complex construction, maintenance, and/or repair projects essential to the mission of the assigned division by tracking project progress, making recommendations for improvement and coordinating the work of personnel to complete project on time and within budget.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Associate's degree, vocational technical degree, or specialized training that is equivalent to satisfactory completion of two years of college education in a related field
- Four years of related experience

- Years of related experience may substitute for years of education
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Plans, designs, manages, directs, tracks, and reports on construction, maintenance, and/or repair project activities and researches ideas for improvement
- Trains, manages, and supervises the work of subordinates, contractors and/or work crews
- Manages on-site inspections, maintains records
- Troubleshoots and resolves problems
- Serves as primary contact on project(s) for consultants and the public
- Draft contracts, obtain permits and licenses
- Provides oversight and control of special contracts and projects
- Audits and approves invoices, tracks funds, prepares bid proposals and performs other administrative tasks
- Performs related work as assigned
SPECIAL LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
All Certifications and licenses must be maintained as a condition of employment.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- All positions require drug testing and background check before employment and may require a post-job offer physical as stated in Ordinances 21-14(b), 22-13 and 23-16.
- Must be accessible for on-call duty and have the ability to work weekends and holidays, as assigned, and in emergencies.
