Full-Stack Developer (FastAPI / React)

We're building Sentinel — a real-time industrial safety monitoring platform for oil & gas and critical infrastructure operations. Early-stage startup; you'll shape the product from the ground up.

Role Overview

Part-time full-stack developer, 10 hrs/week. Work directly with the founder on backend API development, frontend features, and production deployments.

Responsibilities

• Extend and maintain our FastAPI backend (SQLAlchemy async ORM)
• Build React JSX frontend components and dashboards
• Manage PostgreSQL schema and migrations
• Deploy and maintain services on Railway
• Implement security features (JWT auth, MFA, audit logging)

Tech Stack

• Backend: Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy (async), PostgreSQL
• Frontend: React JSX, Vite
• Auth: RS256 JWT, bcrypt, TOTP MFA
• Deploy: Railway, Docker, Git

Requirements

• Strong Python / FastAPI skills
• React development experience
• PostgreSQL proficiency
• Self-directed; works independently with minimal supervision
• Reliable internet connection (Lagos or remote NG)

Nice to Have

• OT/industrial systems experience (Modbus, OPC-UA, DNP3)
• Docker / CI-CD pipeline experience
• Cybersecurity fundamentals

Compensation

• NGN 300,000/month fixed (10 hrs/week)
• Up to 2.5% equity (vesting over 24 months)
