Mechanical Engineer

The Mechanical Engineer reports to the Director of Engineering. This position will be primarily responsible for assisting the Mechanical Engineering Department with creating and maintaining 3D models, drawings, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and routers.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain 3D models for components and machine assemblies in SolidEdge
• Create, maintain, and release drawing packages for machine assemblies
• Create and release 3D models and BOM’s for sold standard and custom equipment, based on sales orders and installation drawings
• Create and maintain bill of materials, use ERP to create and maintain part numbers
• Process change order paperwork for both customer driven and internally driven change orders
• Work with manufacturing to implement Engineering change requests and product improvements, as required (Action Cards)
• Assist in updating and maintaining manufacturing documentation for standard models
• Participate or lead projects to improve engineering models and documentation for current and legacy designs.
• Assist in creating service order packages
• Assist in product testing, as required

Qualifications/Training

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 1 to 7 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, NPD, or related experience in industrial sanitizing, washing, food processing, and/or food service equipment
• Experience using CAD software such as SolidEdge and/or similar
• Sheetmetal design experience is highly desirable
• Experience designing OEM equipment is highly desirable
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in high mix low volume preferred
• Excellent problemsolving skills
• Strong computer and mathematical skills
• Flexible approach to work and the ability to adapt to change
• Selfmotivated attitude and the ability to use initiative
• Open to travel up to 5%
