Position responsibilities:
- Assist in the daily task assignments and overall direction of a product development team
- Product design using 3D CAD software
- Creation of manufacturing and customer drawings
- Hands on prototyping to prove out concepts
- Work with suppliers and Quality Control to evaluate First Piece Production Samples
- Work alongside Quality Control to implement Incoming Control Plans as well as Standard Work Instructions
- Provide product specs and 3D data for use on our website as well as our Specification Guide.
- Work with the Marketing team to develop strong content like installation instructions, videos, imagery, improved copy (features and benefits) on NEW and existing items
- Expectation to travel to at least 1 Major trade show per year and possibly visit international suppliers. (30 or less travel days per year)
- Become knowledgeable and proficient with the software we use internally: Salsify, DocuSign, Epicor, and Smartsheet
Essential skills and experience:
•4-year Mechanical or Industrial Engineering degree
•CAD experience with strong drafting skills is a must. (SolidWorks preferred)
•Strong verbal and written communication skills
•High level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
•Ability to multi-task, prioritize, manage time effectively and hold team members accountable
•Self-directed, motivated and able to achieve hard deadlines without supervision
•Ability to assist in the direction of a product development team
•Highly organized and process driven
Preferred skills and experience:
•10+ years work experience in an engineering related field
•Experience with plastic, wood, sheet-metal, and wire-form design, along with knowledge of cabinet construction
