PG Golf LLC is looking for a QA Process Engineer who can lead a new project to build and start up a golf ball refinishing plant in our operations. No Sponsorship is offered for this position. Summary:
The QA Process Engineer is responsible for the development and maintenance of process quality systems, equipment reliability programs, regulatory compliance initiatives, inventory controls, and continuous improvement activities to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent manufacturing operations within the golf ball refinishing facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop an understanding of standards and workflow relationships between departments to optimize operational efficiencies.
- Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, quality standards, inspection methods, and process control documentation to support consistent manufacturing operations.
- Develop and administer training programs for manufacturing personnel on process controls, quality standards, inspection procedures, and SOP compliance to ensure consistent execution of manufacturing processes.
- Perform routine inspections, audits, and testing of incoming materials, in-process products, and finished goods to validate compliance with manufacturing specifications, SOPs, quality standards, and established safety requirements.
- Partner with Operations, Maintenance, and Engineering to improve equipment reliability through preventive maintenance programs, predictive maintenance strategies, and equipment performance monitoring.
- Develop equipment maintenance standards and oversee maintenance planning activities to maximize production uptime and process capability.
- Lead or assist troubleshooting efforts for critical equipment failures, identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and support efforts to improve equipment reliability and reduce recurring downtime.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental, health, safety, and regulatory requirements, including maintaining required records, preparing compliance reports, and supporting internal and external audits.
- Establish inventory control processes for raw materials and consumables, including cycle counting, usage tracking, shelf-life management, and material disposition activities.
- Establish and maintain equipment-specific critical spare parts inventories ensuring critical replacement parts are available to minimize downtime and support reliable manufacturing operations.
- Monitor product quality and lead effort to continuously drive improvements in process capability.
- Support process modifications, equipment installations, and new product introductions through testing, validation, risk assessments, and Management of Change (MOC) procedures.
REQUIREMENTS
- BS Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Mechatronic Engineering is required, preferred chemical experience.
- Between 3 and 5 years of progressive growth in manufacturing operations management, including experience leading and coaching professional-level associates to deliver on KPI outputs.
- Advanced knowledge in Paints and Coatings manufacturing processes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain functions.
- Demonstrated ability to train, coach, and influence manufacturing personnel on quality standards, process controls, SOP compliance, and best practices.
- Experience leading continuous improvement projects that improve quality, reduce waste, increase process capability, and enhance equipment reliability.
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
- Experience supporting environmental, health, safety, and regulatory compliance programs, including documentation, recordkeeping, audits, and incident investigations.
- Must be available to participate in an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support for equipment failures, utility disruptions, process upsets, and other operational emergencies.
