Job Purpose and Impact

The Cloud Platform Engineer will help build the foundation for the company's modern business applications. In this role, you will apply your in-depth knowledge of modern infrastructure and cloud software engineering practices to build, secure, and maintain the core capabilities used by our data and application teams to drive business value. You will also coach and mentor junior engineers to deliver highly scalable and resilient systems using infrastructure as code across our data centers and cloud environments.

Key Accountabilities

• SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT: Designs and develops high quality software solutions by writing clean, maintainable and efficient codes.
• AUTOMATION: Leads the application of internal software deployment platform, continuous integration or continuous delivery pipeline and twelve factor development methodology to automate the deployment process, ensuring smooth and reliable releases.
• COLLABORATION: Partners with cross functional team of product managers, designers and other engineers to gather complex requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
• TESTING & DEBUGGING: Writes and maintains complex unit tests and integration tests, and performs debugging to maintain the quality and performance of the software, applying test driven development as needed.
• CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT: Recommends options for improving the software development and deployment processes, and implements the approved standards to improve efficiency and reliability.
• DOCUMENTATION: Creates and maintains comprehensive documentation for complex software applications, deployment processes and system configurations.
• TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Provides technical support and troubleshooting for complex issues with deployed applications to ensure minimal downtime and fast resolution.

Qualifications

• Minimum requirement of 4 years of relevant work experience. Typically reflects 5 years or more of relevant experience.
• Experience with AWS networking tools (Cloud WAN, Direct connect, transit gateway, etc.)
• Experience with AWS cloud technologies, including EC2, security groups, Auto Scaling Groups (ASG), S3, and IAM.
• Experience with managing Windows workloads in AWS.
• Experience with Cloud Provider AWS. Moderate experience with container technologies (Kubernetes, EKS, ECS, Swarm, Docker, etc.) and a
• Strong background in scripting and programming, including – Terraform, Golang or Python, PowerShell

Compensation Data

The expected salary for this position is $102,000-$129,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance. At Cargill we put people first.
