Job Title: Senior Java Engineer (Kafka/API)

Employment Type: Contract

Duration: September 2027

Location: Toronto/ Waterloo/ REMOTE (EST Hours)

Ideal Rate: $80- $85 (Based on Experience)

REMOTE (Canada)

Must haves:

5+ years of Java development experience.
Reliability Clearance Required
Strong experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, JSON, SOAP, and web services.
Hands-on experience building microservices.
Experience with Kafka or Kafka Streams.
Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Maven/Gradle, Artifactory, or Ansible.
Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB.

Nice to Have

AWS cloud experience.
Okta and OAuth2 authentication.
WebSphere, DB2, IBM ODM, ESB, or SonarQube.
Experience within financial services or retirement/pension domains.
