About the job

About LockerSkin™

LockerSkin™ creates custom removable graphics for school lockers, classroom doors, door jambs, desks, windows, student celebrations, senior recognition, and other school spaces.

The company was founded by Steve Rooney, a 30-year veteran educator in Acworth, Georgia, and was developed from firsthand experience with the needs of schools, teachers, students, and administrators.

LockerSkin™ has a growing design portfolio, real-world school installations, production relationships, and opportunities across K–12 education, school fundraising, e-commerce, commercial graphics, licensing, and entertainment production. One of our signature projects was created with Payson High School in Utah to preserve and commemorate the original locker associated with Kevin Bacon’s character in the 1984 film Footloose.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Operating Cofounder/CEO to lead the business side of LockerSkin™ and help develop it into a scalable national brand.

The founder will remain involved in product vision, creative development, education insight, and key relationships. The operating cofounder will take primary responsibility for building the systems, partnerships, sales strategy, and team needed to grow the company.

This is not a traditional employee position. We are looking for someone who wants meaningful ownership and the opportunity to help shape the future of the business.

Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day business operations and company growth
Develop and execute a national sales and marketing strategy
Build relationships with schools, districts, distributors, fundraising companies, and commercial partners
Manage manufacturing, pricing, fulfillment, vendors, and quality control
Develop a streamlined online ordering and customization process
Create repeatable systems that do not require the founder to personally manage every order
Explore wholesale, licensing, franchise, and partnership opportunities
Build budgets, sales goals, forecasts, and performance tracking
Recruit and manage additional team members as the company grows
Help prepare LockerSkin™ for outside investment, strategic partnerships, or future acquisition opportunities
Ideal Background

We are especially interested in candidates with experience in one or more of the following:

K–12 education products or school sales
Commercial printing, signage, magnets, or graphics
Physical-product and consumer-brand growth
E-commerce and digital marketing
National sales, wholesale, or distribution
Licensing, school fundraising, or strategic partnerships
Startup operations, fundraising, or company leadership

The right person will be entrepreneurial, resourceful, hands-on, and comfortable building systems from the ground up. They should be excited about taking real ownership of LockerSkin™ and leading its next stage of growth.

Compensation and Equity

This is an equity-first, performance-based operating-cofounder opportunity. LockerSkin™ is not able to offer a guaranteed salary at this stage.

The selected partner may earn an agreed commission on completed, paid sales they directly generate. Cash compensation or salary may become available once the company reaches mutually agreed revenue, profitability, or funding milestones.

Equity of up to 33% may be available for the right long-term partner, based on experience, responsibilities, time commitment, measurable performance, and any capital invested. Equity would be earned through an agreed vesting schedule and formal operating agreement rather than transferred immediately.

Investment capacity is a plus, but the primary need is a capable, hands-on operator who can generate sales, build systems, and lead LockerSkin™ through its next stage of growth.

How to Apply

Please include:

Your relevant leadership and business experience
Examples of companies, products, or teams you have helped grow
Why LockerSkin™ interests you
How you would approach scaling the company
Whether you are interested only in an operating role or may also be able to invest financially
