About the work

I’m looking for someone to work directly with me as a Founder’s PA.

I'm looking for someone who I’m looking for a Founder’s Associate to work directly with me.

This isn't a traditional assistant role. I'm looking for someone who wants to get involved early — someone curious about people, ideas and the things that might become something.

You'll be close to me and close to the things I'm building. You'll hear ideas while they're still ideas, meet people before they're part of the story, and have the freedom to follow things that look interesting.

A big part of the role will be people.

Finding them. Meeting them. Talking to them. Introducing them. Connecting people who might have something interesting to say to each other.

You might discover someone I should know. You might introduce just.witter to someone who becomes one of its first users. You might stumble across an interesting community, artist, journalist, founder or creator and think, I should tell James about this.

You might simply have a conversation that leads somewhere unexpected.

That's the kind of thing I'm interested in.

You might:

• Find people I should know.
• Discover interesting communities, creators, artists, founders and journalists.
• Start conversations.
• Make introductions.
• Follow up with people we've met.
• Help people discover just.witter.
• Find opportunities I haven't seen.
• Research something that has caught our attention.
• Go down interesting rabbit holes.
• Come up with ideas.
• Try things.
• Tell me what you think.
• Bring interesting people and ideas into the room.

You won't be given a rigid list of tasks. I'd rather you noticed something interesting and acted on it than waited for me to tell you what to do.

This isn't a marketing or content-creation role

You won't be expected to run social media, create posts, produce content or manage marketing campaigns.

The focus is on people, relationships, curiosity and opportunity.

You might tell someone about just.witter. You might introduce us to someone interesting. You might find a community we should know about. You might have a conversation that opens a door.

The important thing isn't producing something.

It's noticing something — or someone — worth pursuing.

Who I'm looking for

I'm less interested in your experience than in your instinct for people. You might be a student, recent graduate, PA, writer, artist, journalist, creator, recruiter, entrepreneur, community builder — or something completely different.

You are probably:

• Curious about people.
• Naturally sociable.
• Comfortable talking to strangers.
• Good at making people feel comfortable.
• Interested in unusual ideas.
• Naturally connective.
• Resourceful.
• Proactive.
• A good communicator.
• Someone who notices opportunities.
• Someone who follows their curiosity.
• Someone who doesn't need constant direction.

You don't need to be the loudest person in the room.

You just need to be the person who notices who is worth talking to.

About just.witter

just.witter is a voice-first social platform built around a simple idea:

Voices, not posts.

People share thoughts, stories and experiences in their own voice rather than through polished posts, algorithms or performance.

• A founder sharing what they're building.
• A musician sharing an idea before it becomes a song.
• Someone talking about their everyday life.
• Someone telling a story only they can tell.

Part social platform, part public radio, just.witter is an experiment in making the internet feel a little more human.

You'll probably spend a lot of time around just.witter, but it won't necessarily be the only thing we work on.

What makes this different

• You'll work directly with me.
• There are no management layers and no marketing department.
• You'll be close to the decisions, the experiments, the people and the ideas.
• This role could be quite small if that's what you want.
• Or it could grow into something much bigger.
• I'm looking for someone who wants to be part of building things, rather than simply being employed by it.
