About the Role
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly motivated QA Engineer to join our engineering team.
You will help ensure the quality, reliability, and security of our web applications and APIs through manual and automated testing. This is a hands-on role for someone who learns quickly, takes ownership, solves problems proactively, and can deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, maintain, and execute test plans, test scenarios, and test cases
- Perform functional, smoke, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing
- Build and maintain automated tests using Playwright or Cypress
- Test REST APIs using Postman or similar tools
- Perform basic load and performance testing using k6
- Validate critical user journeys across web and mobile experiences
- Test authentication, authorisation, role-based access, and input validation
- Perform cross-browser and mobile web testing
- Identify, document, prioritise, and track defects using Jira or a similar tool
- Collaborate with developers and product team members to reproduce, verify, and resolve issues
- Support release testing, staging validation, and post-deployment smoke testing
- Continuously improve QA processes, automation coverage, and overall test quality
Required Skills
- Experience with both manual and automated software testing
- Strong understanding of functional, smoke, regression, integration, API, and end-to-end testing
- Hands-on experience with Playwright or Cypress
- Experience testing APIs using Postman or similar tools
- Basic experience with k6 or another performance-testing tool
- Foundational security-testing experience, including authentication, authorisation, role access, and input validation
- Experience using Jira or a similar defect-tracking tool
- Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub
- Basic SQL knowledge for data validation
- Confidence using browser developer tools
- Good understanding of REST APIs
- Familiarity with Agile or Scrum development practices
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Experience working in a startup or product-based environment
- Experience establishing or improving QA processes
- Experience incorporating automated tests into CI/CD workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with engineering and product teams
