Job Description: IS4S is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Hardware Electrical Engineer with expertise in high-speed, embedded, and RF electronics for military projects. An immediate area of focus will is open architectures of SOSA VNX+ Software-Defined Radio systems. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design and development of advanced hardware systems, contributing to the success of mission-critical applications.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop RF, embedded, and high-speed electronics for sensing, communication, and other equipment.
- Conduct feasibility studies, analysis, and simulation for new hardware designs, ensuring compliance with military standards and requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers, mechanical engineers, and project managers, to deliver integrated solutions.
- Generate detailed hardware specifications, schematics, and PCB layouts for advanced hardware boards.
- Perform prototype testing, troubleshooting, and validation of RF and power electronics systems.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to recommend improvements and innovations.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Proficiency in relevant tools and software for schematic capture, PCB layout, and simulation (e.g., Altium, Cadence, SPICE).
- Experience with testing and validation of hardware systems, including thermal and environmental testing.
- Familiarity with military standards and specifications related to hardware design.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a security clearance.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with wireless design and basic principles of RF and antenna theory.
- Understanding of electronics thermal management
- Experience with software-defined radios (SDR) and frameworks, such as GNU radio
- Coding skills with VHDL and C/C++
- Design and analysis experience using industry standard tools (COMSOL, ANSYS, Matlab, Python, etc).
