Role Description The Senior System Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Milpitas, CA. This position is responsible for designing, implementing, and testing complex system architectures to support MPI product line up. Day-to-day tasks include understanding system requirements and architecture, design and conduct experiments in order to determine system margin, recommend and verify algorithms and solutions. The Senior System Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements, provide technical support for manufacturing and deployments, and optimize existing systems. The role also involves documenting processes, contributing to best practices, and mentoring team members on systems engineering standards and tools.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Systems Engineering and Design skills to architect and integrate complex, scalable solutions that involves optics, mechanics, electronics including FW and SW skills.
  • Strong in physics, electronic solutions and troubleshooting, from low level signals (analog/SNR) to data processing solutions (MCUs, FPGAs)
  • Proficient in systems control theory, resolution and repeatability to fully characterize the product under test under different environmental conditions.
  • Experience in developing models and algorithms to solve system level issues using various sensors and observables.
  • Proficient in at least one SW coding language to code algorithms including data collection, processing, and analysis.
  • Candidates should possess advanced troubleshooting skills to diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in production and lab environments.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work on-site in Milpitas, CA full time and support occasional off-hours or on-call activities as needed.
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Applied Physics, or a related technical field; equivalent experience may be considered.
