We bring together bank statements, business records, and other financial data sources into a single view, perform intelligent analysis, and generate insights that help institutions make faster and better-informed decisions.

We're still an early-stage startup, which means we're looking for someone who enjoys building products from the ground up rather than maintaining existing system

About the Role
We're looking for a Backend/Data Engineer who enjoys solving challenging engineering problems and building systems that can scale.

You'll work on things like:

• Building and maintaining backend services using Python
• Designing APIs and scalable system architecture
• Processing and analyzing financial datasets
• Building data ingestion and ETL pipelines
• Working with PostgreSQL and Redis
• Designing background jobs and asynchronous workflows
• Integrating AI services into product workflows
• Collaborating closely on product and technical decisions

Preferred Skills

We're looking for experience with most of the following:

• Python
• FastAPI
• PostgreSQL
• SQLAlchemy
• Redis
• Celery or similar background job systems
• REST APIs
• Data engineering or ETL pipelines
• Cloud platforms (AWS is a plus)
• Git and collaborative development

Experience in fintech, analytics platforms, or data-intensive applications is an advantage but not required.

Compensation

To be completely transparent:

Scanwick is an early-stage startup and is currently pre-revenue. At this stage, we are not offering a fixed salary.

Compensation includes:

• Equity in the company
• Employee Stock Options (ESOP)
• Monthly data/internet subscription support

As the company grows, secures funding, and begins generating sustainable revenue, our goal is to transition founding team members into salaried positions while preserving their equity ownership. We're looking for people who believe in building something meaningful and are willing to grow alongside the company.
