Senior Full Stack PHP Developer (Remote)

Pure Local Business Directory Pty Ltd is the company behind PureLocal.com.au, one of Australia's established online business directories.

Since 2014, we've helped Australian businesses increase their online visibility while making it easier for consumers to discover trusted local companies through detailed business listings, verified customer reviews and powerful local search.

We're looking for an experienced Full Stack PHP Developer to help maintain and expand our platform as we continue improving performance, search functionality and user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Develop new platform features using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
  • Improve website performance and scalability.
  • Maintain and optimise business listing and search functionality.
  • Build and integrate APIs.
  • Improve structured data and SEO-related functionality.
  • Develop secure backend systems.
  • Troubleshoot bugs and performance issues.
  • Work with Cloudflare, caching and security technologies.
  • Maintain clean, well-documented code.
  • Collaborate on new product ideas and platform improvements.
  • Requirements
  • 5+ years commercial PHP development.
  • Strong MySQL experience.
  • Excellent JavaScript.
  • HTML5 & CSS3.
  • REST API development.
  • Git.
  • Linux server experience.
  • Understanding of website security.
  • Strong debugging skills.
  • Excellent written English.

Pure Local Business Directory staff can work remotely while on vacation. Though not typically requested , if you want to work for us while on holiday then you'll need a mobile laptop and an internet connection.
