Experience Required: 5-10 Years
Summary
Build and deploy production-ready solutions directly with customers. We are looking for an experienced Forward Deployed Engineer who can own delivery from discovery and rapid prototyping through integration, production rollout, and adoption. The ideal candidate should have strong enterprise software engineering experience, particularly with Java and Spring Boot, along with working knowledge of Python or JavaScript/TypeScript, cloud platforms, APIs, data integration, and customer-facing technical delivery.

Secondary Skills: React, Angular, FastAPI, SQL, NoSQL, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Azure, GCP, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, LLM APIs, RAG, Agentic Workflows, Observability, Secure Coding
What You'll Do
- Partner directly with customers to understand business workflows, technical environments, pain points, constraints, and measurable success criteria.
- Own technical delivery from discovery and solution scoping through architecture, prototyping, development, integration, testing, deployment, and production adoption.
- Design and build backend or full-stack applications using Java, Spring Boot, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frontend frameworks as appropriate for the solution.
- Develop RESTful APIs, microservices, automation, data workflows, and integrations with enterprise applications, databases, cloud services, and third-party platforms.
- Translate ambiguous business requirements into practical technical plans, milestones, dependencies, acceptance criteria, and production rollout strategies.
- Move solutions from proof of concept to secure, scalable, observable, and maintainable production systems.
- Troubleshoot complex application, integration, infrastructure, performance, reliability, security, and data issues across customer environments.
- Work closely with product, engineering, AI/ML, data, QA, DevOps, security, sales, and customer-success teams to remove blockers and deliver measurable outcomes.
- Support customer onboarding and adoption, provide technical guidance, and communicate progress, risks, trade-offs, and recommendations to technical and business stakeholders.
- Capture reusable components, implementation patterns, technical playbooks, and customer feedback to improve future deployments and product capabilities.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering, forward deployed engineering, solutions engineering, technical consulting, implementation, or customer-facing delivery.
- Strong production-level programming experience with Java and Spring Boot, plus proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or another modern programming language.
- Hands-on experience building backend or full-stack applications, microservices, REST APIs, integrations, and data-driven workflows.
- Strong understanding of system design, software architecture, object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, testing, and clean coding practices.
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, data modeling, SQL, and integration across complex enterprise systems.
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP; Docker or Kubernetes; CI/CD pipelines; and production deployment practices.
- Ability to take solutions from prototype or proof of concept through stable production deployment, monitoring, support, and continuous improvement.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, performance optimization, observability, and production-support skills.
- Good understanding of enterprise security, authentication and authorization, APIs, identity and access management, data privacy, and secure coding practices.
- Ability to operate independently in fast-moving and ambiguous environments, make sound technical trade-offs, and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work directly with engineers, business users, executives, and customer stakeholders; willingness to travel to client locations when required.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- Experience building or deploying generative AI, machine learning, LLM-powered applications, intelligent automation, or agent-based solutions.
- Knowledge of LLM APIs, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), tool calling, agentic workflows, evaluation methods, guardrails, prompt engineering, or AI observability.
- Experience with React or Angular, FastAPI or similar frameworks, Kafka or messaging systems, and distributed or event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code, Linux, networking fundamentals, monitoring, logging, telemetry, and site-reliability practices.
- Experience navigating enterprise requirements such as SSO, security reviews, compliance, data governance, legacy integrations, and regulated environments.
- Background in enterprise SaaS, financial services, healthcare, government, manufacturing, or other complex customer environments.
- Cloud, Java, software architecture, DevOps, security, data, or AI certifications are a plus.
