About the job

About Care IO and our mission
So that no one’s care ever waits on their records.
Care IO is a healthcare data governance and exchange network built to make care coordination effortless, starting with workers’ compensation, auto injury, occupational health, and claims administration: where clinical data still moves by fax, mailed CDs, and re-typing, and where patients wait longer for care.

We solve data liquidity for that world. Our FHIR-native platform understands clinical data in whatever form it exists, structured or unstructured, and applies AI and intelligent agents working coherently with people to turn it into governed, trusted, real-time records that move safely between everyone coordinating a case. Ordering physicians, imaging centers, therapy, equipment, and home health providers, claims teams, and case managers work from the same live picture. This is live infrastructure in production today: hundreds of millions of clinical files under governance across a national network of connected locations, growing every day. The people we hire now will build what comes next and own it.

We’re a growing, revenue-generating team headquartered in Princeton, New Jersey, working on problems that are genuinely hard, at the intersection of healthcare interoperability, applied AI, and audit-grade data governance. If you want to fix healthcare and you’re tired of watching the industry patch surface issues and apply band-aids, come make our story your own. We’d like to meet you.

The role
Care IO is hiring a senior Implementation Lead / Technical Product Manager to own enterprise implementation: how the platform is delivered, adopted, and expanded at enterprise customers.
You will own delivery end to end: integration design, connectivity rollout, clinical data flows, and release coordination. You will spend real time on-site with customers, driving adoption in their environment, and you will lead the implementation and forward-deployed team members who make each rollout stick, coordinating closely with customer success and support. Roughly 60% technical, 40% functional. This is a high-ownership individual-contributor leadership role on a lean team.
This role is also responsible for building Care IO’s repeatable implementation capability: intake discipline, the implementation playbook, and cutover runbooks that reduce the cost and duration of each subsequent implementation.

What makes this seat different

  • You are not inheriting a process. Implementation at Care IO is being defined right now, and it gets defined by whoever takes this job. The playbook, the intake discipline, the runbooks: yours to write, and every customer after this one runs on what you write.
  • The distance between you and a decision is one conversation. Flat structure, frequent releases, and direct access to the people who set company direction. Nothing sits between a problem you found on Tuesday and a fix in the next release.
  • The platform is already real. Production volume, enterprise customers, revenue in the door. You are delivering something that works, not selling a roadmap and hoping engineering catches up.

What you will do

  • Own enterprise customer programs end to end: integrations, data flows, environments, releases, and delivery tracking.
  • Run the single intake for every scope request into the program, including everything the Forward Deployed Engineer later surfaces, so nothing gets built off-book.
  • Translate customer needs into engineering-ready requirements; own sequencing and scope trade-offs; direct engineering priorities.
  • Spend meaningful time on-site with customers, and lead the implementation and forward-deployed engineers who hold the ground as programs scale.
  • Write the implementation playbook and cutover runbooks; identify expansion opportunities from inside the account.
  • Make delivery risk visible early, and escalate with options, not surprises.

What success looks like

  • Soon after you start: you own the delivery rhythm end to end.
  • As rollouts mature: go-lives are delivered, the implementation team operates under your direction, and programs run against a roadmap.
  • Within your first year: the playbook and runbooks are written, you have surfaced real expansion opportunities, and the program is ready to replicate for the next account.

Who we are looking for

  • Implementation and program leaders with direct ownership experience of a major enterprise account.
  • Technical product managers effective both on-site with customers and in roadmap and architecture discussions.
  • Strategic thinkers and systems thinkers: able to hold the company’s direction, the architecture, the customer’s needs, and the delivery sequence in mind at once.
  • Professionals with strong documentation discipline; written playbooks and runbooks are core deliverables of this role.
  • About 10+ years in technical program leadership, implementation leadership, or technical product management. Healthcare integration experience strongly preferred: HL7, FHIR, or medical imaging.
  • Experience directing distributed engineering teams.

How we operate

  • Phased delivery. Ambitious architecture, delivered in phases sized to customer needs.
  • Early risk visibility. Risk is surfaced early with options attached; timely escalation is expected and valued.
  • Clean interfaces. Single point of contact for the customer, single intake for scope, single direction to engineering.

Location, travel, and compensation
• Remote US, East coast working hours.
• Approximately 25% travel, with domestic and occasional international trips on a need basis.
• $150,000 to $190,000 base salary + stock options + benefits.
• US Citizens / Permanent Residents only.
