About the Role
We're looking for a hands-on QA Inspector to safeguard product quality across our Appliances business unit. You'll inspect and audit finished goods and spares at vendor locations, ensure conformance to BIS and internal quality standards, and drive corrective actions that prevent market failures. If you know your way around quality tools, engineering drawings, and Indian standards, this role is for you.
**What You'll Do
Inspection & Quality Assurance
Perform daily inspection of finished goods and spare parts at vendor locations
Monitor and enforce quality assurance per BEL's laid-down systems and procedures
Conduct electrical and mechanical testing on domestic/kitchen appliances per BIS standards
Validate that products are built to correct, required specifications
Verify refined and corrected engineering drawings and designs
Carry out process inspection and monitoring to improve product quality
Visit suppliers as per product inspection plans
**Problem Solving & CAPA
Analyze and drive CAPA to reduce and stop market failures
Prepare action plans and conduct root-cause analysis using A3 and 8D methodologies
Apply knowledge of QA documents such as SOP, PFC, and PAG
Actively participate in customer-end meetings
**Vendor Coordination & Monitoring
Guide supplier quality teams on defects and in-process quality to resolve complaints and customer concerns
Troubleshoot day-to-day quality problems within supplier processes
Provide timely inputs to suppliers and Procurement for corrective actions
Run routine audits to ensure only current drawings/specifications are in use
Participate in CAPA for observations during vendor re-evaluation
What You'll Bring
**Qualifications
Essential: Degree/Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Desired: BE / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical
3–5 years in a quality function or similar area
Functional Competencies
Strong knowledge of sampling plans and product inspection
Command of quality tools used in the appliances industry
Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret Indian standards (BIS / IEC / GS)
Knowledge of measurement and testing instruments
Behavioral Competencies
Strong analytical skills and decision-making
Operational effectiveness and a proactive, preventive approach
Good communication skills
