Fractional CFO

About the Role

PolarGrid is an early-stage AI infrastructure company. We're looking for a Fractional CFO to help us build the financial foundation as we scale, raise, and sign larger commercial deals.

This isn't a bookkeeping role. We need someone who can think strategically about our business model, help us get fundraise-ready, and be a real partner to the founding team on financial decisions.

What You'll Do

•⁠ ⁠Own financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario planning
•⁠ ⁠Prepare and maintain investor-ready financials and reporting
•⁠ ⁠Support fundraising: data room prep, cap table management, due diligence
•⁠ ⁠Help structure and review commercial contracts, pricing, and revenue models
•⁠ ⁠Set up and oversee accounting infrastructure (working with our bookkeeper/accountant)
•⁠ ⁠Advise on cash management, runway, and burn rate
•⁠ ⁠Be available to founders for financial decisions as they come up

What We're Looking For

•⁠ ⁠Prior CFO or VP Finance experience at a startup, ideally through a fundraise
•⁠ ⁠Comfortable with reserved capacity or usage-based revenue models
•⁠ ⁠Knows how to build a financial model from scratch, not just maintain one
•⁠ ⁠Familiar with cap tables, SAFEs, and equity mechanics
•⁠ ⁠Strong communicator who can explain financial nuance to non-finance founders
•⁠ ⁠Available for regular check-ins plus ad hoc availability when things move fast

Bonus Points

•⁠ ⁠Experience with AI, infrastructure, or developer-facing businesses
•⁠ ⁠Has helped a company raise a Seed or Series A
•⁠ ⁠CPA, CFA, or equivalent background
