SysOps Engineer (IoT)

We are looking for a Senior SysOps Engineer with strong IoT experience to join our team as a contractor.

This role is designed for a hands-on, self-driven engineer who can quickly onboard, take ownership of infrastructure, and operate independently in a complex, distributed environment.

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in a similar role
• Strong hands-on experience with Linux system administration;
• Proven experience with virtualization platforms (Proxmox preferred);
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and infrastructure design;
• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability stacks;
• Practical experience with Docker and containerized environments;
• Real-world experience with IoT systems and device integration is required.
• Proficiency in English at a fluent level to communicate effectively with the team and stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

Infrastructure and System Operations

• Deploy, configure, and maintain Linux-based systems (installation, patching, troubleshooting);
• Operate and optimize virtualized environments (Proxmox or similar);
• Manage and integrate hardware infrastructure: servers, NAS, UPS, PDU, and rack systems;
• Configure and maintain networking (IP addressing, VLANs, routing, firewalls);
• Implement and manage identity and access systems (FreeIPA, FreeRADIUS).

Observability, Monitoring and Reliability

• Design and maintain monitoring and observability pipelines;
• Implement logging, metrics collection, health checks, and alerting;
• Work with tools like Grafana, Prometheus, Loki, Alloy (or equivalents);
• Ensure system reliability, performance, and operational transparency.

Containers and System Integration

• Build and operate containerized workloads using Docker;
• Understand and manage service-to-service communication and network flows;
• Integrate heterogeneous systems across infrastructure layers.

IoT System Integration

• Design and implement communication between physical devices (cameras, radars, audio systems) and backend infrastructure;
• Build reliable data pipelines between hardware and software components;
• Manage real-time and batch data flows within IoT ecosystems;
• Support integration and scaling of complex IoT solutions.
